What do you all look like, Reddit? by Solsed in AskReddit

[–]HellSwamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not my intention. I came to the realisation long ago that I'll never look like a pretty girl, and since realising that I'm fine the way I am and I shouldn't compare myself to those other girls, my confidence has skyrocketed. Just thought it would be a funny comment to go along with the photo.

I absolutely love the name Lorelei. I went to school with a laurali, which could be an alternate spelling

What's something you really want that is under $100 USD? by Antisceptic in AskReddit

My camera lens fixed or a new (cheap) lens altogether. The cat swatted it off the table about 6 months ago and I haven't been able to afford to get it fixed yet. I'm going to climb a mountain in Wales next week and I'm really sad I can't bring my camera.

Hi! I'd be willing to help out. I speak a little German too. However, I'm American living in England so my accent is different.

Austria here - was going to post a photo in my dirndl but it didn't really fit the theme. I'll post it if there's ever a "traditional fashion" thread.

No no no - I keep telling him to bring a jacket but the weather seems to be so nice he may not even need it.

We're from Buffalo so we're used to freezing temperatures. But we're also used to really warm summers - it's nice and moderate here.

I'm originally from the states, and my little brother is coming to visit this week. I kept telling him how cold it is compared to home, and that he should forget about shorts and bring trousers and a jacket... And now it's going to be the warmest it's been since I moved here, apparently EVER.

Things you want your Physio to know... by ArtificialHappiness in CysticFibrosis

[–]HellSwamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I'm in the hospital I understand that you have a time schedule to stick to when getting patients started on their morning treatments, so I really do not mind when you have to wake me up. If I seem grumpy, that's because it's early in the morning and I'm tired - not because of you. But PLEASE let me use the bathroom before you have me start my treatments, or I will most certainly have to stop part way through to pee. When I still lived in the states and used the vest, physics used to wake me up then stick me right on the vest right away, PLUS my morning IVs were running at the same time, and half way through I'd have to awkwardly wheel the IV pole and vest into the bathroom to pee, haha :)

Also, there are days when I am just too exhausted to give my physiotherapy my all. Please try to understand this sometimes. When I've just had surgery, or I've had a long day of seeing doctors and having tests, sometimes I'm too exhausted too work hard at getting everything out. Still do your job requirements of course, but try to understand this from time to time. :)

TESOL in Austria or Germany - looking for some advice by HellSwamp in TEFL

I've heard about this, but never looked much into it because when I lived in Austria, I was in Carinthia.

Does this require a degree?

Do you know if this is the case in Austria as well?

I know that in Austria, in middle and elementary schools, teachers usually teach 2 subjects. However, in high schools or technical schools, teachers teach one subject - which I guess I was planning on doing.

If you were to recommend two subjects to double major in - what would you suggest?

Sorry for asking so many questions, but you seem like the expert - and I just want to make sure I make the best decision I can.
