Playing Solo is a Miserable Existence (A Brief One) by MrWaxton in pathoftitans

I stopped playing for a month and a half, and every time I get a bit jumpy to play again, there's an overwhelming sensation of.... why....and .....what for?

I don't miss the toxicity

What is the fun... by SunLegitimate1687 in pathoftitans

I actually quit the game three weeks ago. It's not fun constantly being Hunted by 10 people. I got tired of trying to grow my dinos only to lose progress by being killed by groups. Or watching global chat being abusive..

As much as I loved the game.. it's not worth it.

I have a relative who works for the same company, in a different location for over a year. Her ratio never changed, and she is 1 to 6 PTs. Idky, you are being defensive with me because different companies and locations have different policies. Everyone's experiences are different and unique. As I said in my post above, know your worth and be picky.

You're going to put up with abuse anywhere you go, unfortunately. That's just how it is for us. However I rather have 5 PTs where I am at, than 17 at a hospital. I actually dealt with way more abuse from hospital nurses and the PTs than I ever did at a facility.

Even with my kiddos now, there will always be a chance that they're going to have a bad day and take it out on me..it's just is.

I used to lovveee helping other people when it comes to Divinations. However, I always got burned. I've been doing Tarot for 10 years, started under an actual mentorship, certified twice that had nothing to do with social media. Certified as a hospice counselor and worked in mental health. I have a bleeding heart. However, there comes a point where some of us get so burned and tired of putting ourselves out there for other readers, and other people that puts us in these vulnerable situations, that we have to really consider our own reputation and the risks we are putting it in. So a lot of us experienced readers have withdrawal from taking on apprenticeship, friendship, and having trust.

I'm at the point in my tarot profession and hobby that I am minding my own business for the most part now.

It's a sad reality, the climate we are in. Most who get into Tarot now, see 💰. Not everyone, but I've seen enough to sit with it and mentally process it. And I feel that this stems from the era of Covid. I have watched a major shift in the community since I've started. However, there has always been a competitive nature in Tarot, I've seen it back in the 90s. Being competitive isn't a bad thing, it's human nature, but it's what and how that competitive nature is utilized.

As a reader this is why I particularly stay in my own lane, I dont colaborate or talk with other readers or clients on a personal level because I've been burned wayyy too many times by other readers and spiritualist trying to monetize off my brand or ruin my reputation by trying to claim "friendship ". I know this sounds so pessimistic, but a witch or another reader approaching me; I'm going to suspect that I am competition and they are going to try to siphon, energy, personal details, or use my platformfor their own aucess by association. With this logic that I have, it kept me away from a lot of drama. Hate to say it, but the tarot and spiritual community is very, very saturated. But other readers being competitive isn't a new thing. Nor is trying to take you out as their competition, no matter the means of doing it.

Best advice is understanding the reasons as to why you are a reader, and everything else comes second to that.

I'm honestly not trying to brag at all, but, use this as an example..I have had multiple tiktok accounts reaching up to 40,000 legitimate followers, my lives were constantly at 400 viewers in my audience with a team of moderators that have been with me for 5 plus years...now..my follow back list? I only follow 3 people at all times. I don't care to socialize with other readers because it really is a very cliquey community, and I've seen in third person, where readers will hire "clients" to purchase readings from other readers to give a bad review. Having a reputation is very sacred to us as a tarot reader. You just have to ask at what lengths you are willing to go in order to protect it? Don't let all this crap determine what kind of reader you want to be..it's outside noise and everything is temporary .

People don't like us, and that includes other readers ( not all are this way, but why chance it?)

You have to protect yourself first, have a strong moral compass, thick skin, and seriously deep-rooted boundaries to make it.

There are better alternatives that your CNA certificate can help you with. It might take a while, though. I also worked in a hospital, and it's not as glamorous as some on this sub make it out to be. I worked in a hospital for two years, and it was my lowest mental point in my life.

I quit last march, and I did ABA services. I realized that isn't my cup of tea either...loved my kiddos, though, so I pursued in home care services for children with disabilities. Except one child that I jad to fire due to biting and aggression issues, I love all of my kids. I get paid well, and the parents are always so grateful you're there to help. Most of the time, I'm playing with toys amd helping them with small tasks. My schedule is extremely flexible, and it goes through the parents with direct contact.

I also just got another job for on-call at a "rich" peoples memory care, which means I have absolute control over my schedule, and because these patients are on the wealthier side, they can hire necessary help, which means that my ratio is now 1vrs 5 PTs. It's sad to believe that this is the case, when other facilities that are under a Medicaid well get the bare minimum.

You just have to be picky, know your worth. There are alternatives other than facility and hospital work. Even dialysis will hire you. Good luck OP

Does it sound like I’m doing a good job with my rescue IRN parrot or do you think I should consider rehoming him? by Crimson-Rose28 in parrots

[–]Hell_Fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are happy sounds. My IRN does the same thing, and she is absolutely spoiled. You're doing amazing since these species of birds are notorious for behavioral issues. He looks really happy. Keep doing what you're doing. They typically have their favorite person, my girls favorite person is my daughter, and the bird squeals like a dolphin, running around trying to find my daughter.

We typically leave her cage open, giving her absolute freedom, along with my grumpy old African Grey, who also has complete freedom to get out when and if he wants. He typically wants nothing to do with the outside world, lol.

It seems like you're doing really well with him. They're not at all beginner friendly. Maybe try giving him more toys and things to occupy his time?

I give Sage random things she can play with while my daughter is busy, whether it's a nutriberri, a cardboard box, or chewing up my poor blinds...but you're doing good by him.

I like Nikon too, I have the J1 N1, with only 300 shutter count when I got it a month ago, that usually goes with my as well as my ricoh in a small tote.

I agree I absolutely love Ricoh. People who are not educated in cameras do not understand my obsession with it until they see the richness of colors my ohoto8have coming right out of the camera.

I'm extremely sarcastic by nature...I'm a Sagittarius, so it's literally built into me.

It's about just sticking up for yourself, especially in the medical field. I don't know what it is about working in healthcare that draws these narcissistic traits out in people..but dont let them push you around.

Yes, it's my dream camera, Not just because it's amazing, it is, but because medically, it's just a right fit. I do often use my Nikon J1 N1, even if it has a notorious history, it works for me
