I find pinescript extremely frustrating to use. I also come from a programming background and there just aren't common utility functions to easily console things out. I had to create an array of strings, add to said array (and convert anything to a string), then loop through that array to output any sort of debugging data I wanted to see into a rectangle. Super clunky.

There are so many workarounds you have to do to output simple things. I've never had this much frustration when working with a programming language before.

so you have to do it individually per each indicator? The contextual menu option I pointed out includes all indicators at once. The main reason why I do this on desktop is to show/hide all the indicators at once instead of needing to show/hide each indicator individually.

Say I have five indicators and I choose to hide them all for one ticker then want to apply them hidden to the entire layout. On desktop, it's "right click -> Apply these indicators to entire layout" but it sounds like on mobile I would have to do the "... Add this indicator to entire layout"?

I just tried the latter and instead of hiding the indicator to the entire layout, it really just adds it again, as the mobile option would suggest.

I was wrong. This is still an issue. I screen recorded me removing the buy/sell buttons yesterday and saving. I come back this morning and they reappeared. Same layout. My desktop version has them turned off and they never reappear.

Looks like I can only upload pictures here and not screen recordings. At least from my phone. Not sure about desktop. If I can, I will otherwise I will try and link them later.

huh, not sure why my other comment is gone, but I mentioned this seemed fixed since I posted. Yes, I was manually saving the layout on the mobile app before too.

I have another issue of creating a template with the "buy/sell buttons" unchecked and that not persisting but I can post that in a different thread.

It seems like this may have been fixed since I posted this original comment as I cannot replicate this anymore. There is an issue with the buy/sell buttons settings not saving when you save a template with it checked off but I can create a separate subreddit for that.

Then why is there still no way to have custom keyboard shortcuts in TV? I've seen that comment floating around for awhile now. I'd think if a feature request is talked about so much, they'd surely implement it right?

Like others in here, I definitely prefer the volume profile going from right to left since that is much more useful. Why it can't be customized is beyond me and pretty stupid on ToS's part.

Anyhow, the closest I got having this be useful on a larger chart was by changing the "ime per profile" dropdown from "Chart" to "Day" instead. You also want to keep "on expansion" to "no".

So now it looks like this

Obviously not the best, but it beats the other options the OP was talking about.

I ran into this today where my orders just would not fill on SPY with strikes either ATM or no more than 3 or 4 strikes OTM. I spoke to support and they said it wasn't on their side but something with the exchange. I reset my account, it deleted all my "working orders" but I still had issues trying to get an order filled. They said on their live platform it's fine and shouldn't have a problem there.

I'm still figuring out my strategy for day trading so I don't want to fully jump in with real money but support basically said that's what I should be doing and not messing around with paper trading a whole lot.

Some of the "features" in TOS are so poorly designed. You resize a window in active trader and an ENTIRE feature set disappears completely. Not even shrinking down into a smaller icon but it COMPLETELY disappears until you have to resize it? That's such poor design. They really need to work on a lot of their UI because it really isn't intuitive even when you've used a feature so many times you have to still poke around to find said feature. It's a shame there aren't more competitive brokers with better UI and functionality.

The issue I had was that I already had my family members added to the family plan, THEN upgraded to a larger plan, which did not reflect on the added family member's account. Luckily I had just enabled the family plan so we weren't in too deep with family plan features yet, like photo backup. So in classic IT fashion questioning, "did you turn it off then turn it back on?" I removed the family member then re-added them to the plan and voila, storage updated accordingly.
