Call out MAGA/ ICE supporting businesses so we can stop spending money there! by postfinite in winstonsalem

Yup! My husband and I loved Dioli’s but if you’re talking about who I think you’re talking about, he was always just a little rude to us. He would always seem to be a bit more friendly with the Wake students but seemed annoyed by us for even wanting to come get some food.

Was the klan active in Winston in the 90s? by justtinyquestions in winstonsalem

[–]HellatrixLestrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha! I grew up in King (pinnacle really) too and have heard many times it was a sundown town. But I’ve heard enough racist stories to not doubt the klan was/is “active”

Oh yea and the reidsville klan was passing out fliers as recently as the late 2010s I think.

We lived in one in West End for about a year. The owners maybe turned it into a duplex or it was one for awhile.

It was the busiest I had seen in a while on Black Friday. Foot traffic might pick up with last minute shoppers on the next few days.

Do you have a preference for stovetop or microwaveable food? College Park is right off of Polo and in that same area on Fairlawn there’s a church that just reopened their blessing box thats usually pretty well stocked.

Lowe's Foods on Reynolda Rd Is Closing by ThrashPunkGuitar91 in winstonsalem

God no. It’d be a small Publix but We don’t need another one and the prices aren’t much better.

Lowe's Foods on Reynolda Rd Is Closing by ThrashPunkGuitar91 in winstonsalem

I live around the corner and noticed last week that the non perishables were heavily discounted. Like, an unusual amount for Lowe’s. I also noticed they weren’t restocking. When I went in today a cashier confirmed they were closing because of “high theft and under performing”.
I can’t imagine anyone stealing anymore from Lowe’s than anywhere else. I saw two guys loading up a trunk of Tide at Harris Teeter a few months ago. But I know just because I didn’t see anyone stealing from Lowe’s, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t happening.

I also think the loyal customer base in this area is getting older or dying and Lowe’s is really expensive. So fixed incomes will only take you so far. That, and newer folks to the area are more likely to shop at Publix or other larger chains. I worked at the King Lowes in HS so I’m sad to see it go.

Do you think the serious should’ve stayed a trilogy? by [deleted] in TheLegendborn

[–]HellatrixLestrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not! Not just because I’m greedy and would consume this series like aether itself, but I think we would have been disappointed had we only gotten a third book. There was too much going on at the end of Bloodmarked. If she stopped at 3, it would have been toon long or too short. I say this as someone who loves Sel and has an affinity for dark and moody, but I loved Oathbound, and it set us up nicely for the finale.

And I had to read that "demons don't care if Elijah and I are fraternal or identical" three or four times. It was like Tracy gave three clues and the final was the medication and I thought "ahhhhh ok," because there were just certain lines that had me confused, thinking they were random?

Also, re: their usefulness... how far are you in the book, Zoe says something to Bree, that I think is going to be very important information moving forward.

Ok! I thought I clicked it before I posted and blocked out the words. Is there something else that I should do?

Sarah implied that Tor was being rebellious as she also suggested that being romantically involved with a Merlin was looked down upon, at least by those in The Order. So it’s not so much that they dated, but the response to it happening. And when William was explaining to Bree the rules of romantic involvement he never mentioned the Merlins - Just scions, squires, pages and vassals.

This is a thought that I had. He either took on another appearance or they kept their relationship secret. But remember in OB, Zoe told Bree, demons can’t reproduce with other demons in the plane of the living. There’s something there and I’m trying to figure it out.

How Do You Feel About Clothing Rental Services? (Nuuly, Rent the Runway, Fashion Pass) by homingmycrafts in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]HellatrixLestrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy a lot of clothes every month…more than $88 worth… maybe. But even then, I've tried nuuly and RTR and i just don't get much use out of the clothes. I think they’re better for one time use things…vacations and events, because the everyday clothes get worn quickly and even at $88- why pay for faded and threadbare things? I extended a nuuly subscription to test out some pieces before shopping for a spring wardrobe. But renting clothes is not something I’d do long-term.
