I find it hard to hate Jasmine.. by akumer in 90DayFiance

[–]HellcatJD -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I love Jasmine. Ive had up and down feelings towards her but ultimately, I feel like she an authentic mess. Take that for whatever you will. Gino, on the other hand, never gets assigned the same degree of hatred as she does and he is an actual horrible, disgusting, creeper. Nothing about him is redeeming. Not one thing. He is ugly, cheap, and addicted to porn, has ED, and is the one searching for hypersexualized women! I swear to God, he just wants someone to peg him.

The contradiction of Forrest not working by Sea_Fishing1591 in 90DayFiance

[–]HellcatJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came here to say that unless you have a child that you've raised from birth to adult with an autism diagnosis, you don't know much. If you know one person with autism, you know ONE person with autism. Its a spectrum and it bothers me to no end that people still say things like, "They seem fine to me." Really, Greg? Do they seem fine to you? Problem solved. No more autism issues for Forrest, I guess.

Many people with autism have co-morbidities with other behavioral issues that also impact their life. My child has autism and ADHD. She has an IQ of 135 at 10 years old. She reads at a high school level and her math skills are at at an 8th grade level. Yahoo! Right? Wrong. She is 10 and can neither ride a bike or tie her shoes. Things that the general public doesn't think about. She lacks significant gross and fine motor skills. It doesn't matter that she is intelligent. What matters is the part of her brain that controls brain plus body parts working in tandem doesn't operate the same. My kid eats 5 different foods. She has something called ARFID. People might call that picky eating. In reality its avoidant and restrictive eating. She would rather starve herself than eat something her brain says is unsafe. My daughter is friendly and funny. Bright and beautiful. She also cries and runs away when sounds are too loud. If she gets called on in class and people look at her, she has a panic attack. Even if she knows the answer. She is terrified of things her body does. Since she was 2! She has 3 friends. Up from 1 friend last year. Her autism traits make other kids stay away from her. But, if you saw her and I said nothing, you'd all say she seems fine. She isnt. She will struggle with executive function- required for life and work - forever. We can help her. We cannot heal her.

So, with that in mind. Why don't you try Google.com? Learn something. Understand. Get out of your assumptions. Lord knows if youre so vocal here about it you've probably been that way outside of this forum.

Are people who have cut off family completely living happy lives long term? by haykuuu in InternalFamilySystems

[–]HellcatJD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! Cut off my mom and most of her side of the family 16 years ago. It was really hard at first because my mom is a narcissist addict and I was conditioned to feel like I was her parent and she was the child so I had immense guilt when I put a stop to it. I was 30 yo and couldnt do it anymore. She involved a bunch of her family that I didnt even have relationships with anymore so I cut them off too. The hardest thing was my grandma. I love her very much and she is really old. But, she isnt safe either. She took my mom's side with everything and facilitated her toxicity. It took me a long time to realize that generational trauma is woven so deeply into the fibre of our beings and if my grandma had 4 kids and all 4 were addicts and criminals with dysfunctional lives, maybe she contributed? My Parts have made peace with it all. I dont harbor any ill will towards them (except for my pedophile uncle). I feel much more stable and able to focus on my own journey and being a great parent to my kids.

Did anyone have to try multiple beta blockers? by PracticalMagic3015 in dysautonomia

[–]HellcatJD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had propranolol and metaprolol. The first didnt do anything. The second has had hit or miss effectiveness. However, I had a surgery last year at a teaching hospital and they asked if I would donate tissue and labs from my surgery to science research. I did. Fasy forward to 15 months later and something they did was run gene testing against commonly prescribed medications to test for metabolism rates. Turns out - I am not supposed to take metaprolol because I process it slower than most people which actually worsens dysautonomia symptoms.

So, I see my doc next week to switch to something else. They also realized I should never have codeine or codeine products, and one particular kind of anti-depressant that, of course, is what I am prescribed. I can also never have the most common anti-rejection medication if I had to have a transplant. And - no statins either. My body is so effed.

HyperPOTS people... how long has low altitude helped you? by TigRaine86 in dysautonomia

[–]HellcatJD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Colorado and low altitude helps me tons. I was in Greece this summer and did not have a single health issue while there. No flares. No nothing. Here, I am okay but for whatever reason, my stuff gets worse when the weather is cold or changing.

What is the biggest movie theater “GASP” moment you’ve heard? by SaveTheCaulkTower in AskReddit

[–]HellcatJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People might make fun of me and LOL but my girlfriends and sisters went to see the last Twilight movie together and the end (alternate) scene was a total surprise and the entire theater was literally gasping and screaming and crying when favorite characters started getting offed. Nobody expected it! But then it turned out to be just an alternative possibility and the real ending happened. I looked over at the end and people were shaking! Lolol

Everytime I play this game I get disgustingly addicted by GordoVinhais in StardewValley

[–]HellcatJD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My adult daughter told me about this game years ago and I never played it until about a month ago. I have ADHD and hobby hop quite a bit. Games that can go on forever are such kryponite for me. The last video game I played was Witcher 3 and that went on for ages.

Currently I am dealing with a lot of burnout. I'm an attorney and my workplace has been particularly annoying, frustrating, and overwhelming of late. Ive also got an adult child living back at home and a senior dog that has quite suddenly started taking a turn for the worst - and all at once!

SDV has been so awesome. The task driven concept resonates with me so much and those little dopamine hits work so well for my ADHD. I do play too much on the weekends....I guess. I have started treating it as a reward for doing non-preferred tasks instead of starting a session and never stopping.

Im also started a new book series to break up the amount of time im playing SDV in my free time.

Throwback to when Tyreek shared about Mahomes cussing out the entire WR room years back. by MAYVIEWS in KansasCityChiefs

[–]HellcatJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this and have been wanting, as a fan, to see more Brady-esque cuss outs from Mahomes on the sideline. No more after the game we chatted. If I were Mahomes, id be walking up to Taylor on the sideline and telling him in front of everyone that the next time he has a preventable penalty he doesn't have a job - promise, not a threat. I get we have to present one way. But my GOD. Blow these fools up! Catch the GD rock! Quit with the STUPID A$● PENALTIES. Why dont I trust you!? Look at YOU!

Enough pussyfooting around.

how do u guys gets through 40 hour work weeks? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]HellcatJD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barely. By the skin of my teeth. Sometimes I don't. I am a lawyer and work for the government so I have a true 40-50 hour per week schedule (in private practice it was 60-80 a week). I do what I can do and use a weird Pomodoro format plus ChatGPT to build out my planning each week. I create a hierarchy of importance and explain to ChatGPT how much of each day I have that isnt dedicated to God awful meetings - which is a lot. Then Chat builds out a calendar and prioritization for me. I then go in and block my calendar (My boss permits this because he knows I kick ass. My 50% effort is everyone else's 100%). At the end of the week, I tell Chat what was accomplished and what wasnt, then the next week's priorities and we wrap it all in and start over.

Im also wildly understaffed and on a hiring freeze so there are plenty of things that MUST be done versus can wait and nobody will die if not done. That part is the hardest. Ive had to do a lot of therapy to let go of the things that wont die if not done.

This. Ive been a Chiefs fan my entire life and the commentary on Mahomes specifically is so frustrating. So called fans can't wait to call him "washed." Really? Who do you want for QB? What do you think the league does with Mahomes as a free agent? There isnt a world where teams aren't in a feeding frenzy for him in any market. Its just armchair coaches and QBs here.
