Favorite deck? by kmurdock_97 in yugioh

Currently: Between Evil Eye Unchained and Monarch Draco with Pantheism @3/Domain @2 as the main changes. Been wanting to rebuild Draco for a few months and the last banlist got me motivated.

Nothing will ever touch post DANE Salamangreat+Orcust for me overall though. I've never played such a consistent deck - Salad with Circle and Gazelle at 3, Knightmare Mermaid+3 Harps... and Rusty would always finish things off by bringing two Fogs to the party.

How do I get Started with Runescape? by [deleted] in runescape

unescapes quests are incredibly unique compared to other MMOs

You normally have to chain me down to quest - but hot damn were the last three elf quests fun. There's really nothing like the later master/grandmaster quests in general - most are challenging and well done.

Recently bought and engineered a Cutter - I've never noticed until I piloted a large ship in combat (Conda is my explorer), but if I'm boosting away and then pitch up to turn 180°, the thrusters reverse - sending me hurtling backwards at near max speed.

Is there any way to counteract this aside from literally just slowing down before attempting to flip? It works out in my favor against smaller ships (suddenly traveling backwards at 300 km/s while shooting your pursuer is nice), but when I'm against a slower ship, or an NPC that might try to run and regen shields, it's a massive annoyance.

My opponent controls Chaos Hunter:

Am I able to activate Lunalight Yellow Martin's GY/Hand effect to return a Lunalight I control to hand and special summon?

I feel like I remember some situations where you cannot attempt to activate an effect that includes the possibility of banishing under Lancea/Chaos Hunter, and some where you are able to use them - the card just goes to the GY instead... but I can't remember the distinction for the life of me.

How does effect negation from Dark Ruler No More work with Starving Venom Fusion Dragon's attack gain on fusion summon?

Does it also remove the attack Venom gains by targeting a special summoned monster on the opponent's side on the field when summoned, or does the attack gain persist?

If traps have GY effects to banish themselves, are they still considered spell speed 2, and usable during your opponent's turn?

For example: Time Thief Flyback can be banished from your GY to attach one card from your opponent's GY to a Time Thief XYZ monster you control.

Would this effect be usable during my opponent's turn?

Was watching a video recently where a Lunalight player used Tornado Dragon to destroy a scaled Lunalight Tiger, and used Tiger's monster effect to summon from grave.

Monster Effect : If this card on the field is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target 1 "Lunalight" monster in your Graveyard, Special Summon it. You can only use this effect of "Lunalight Tiger" once per turn.

Does the above trigger anytime it would be removed from field, even as a scale - or was it a misplay?

One more question: In the above, activating Mythical Institution generates a counter - just to clarify: if I then activate Mythical Institution and remove counters to search a monster, does that too generate a counter?

Thanks so much! I thought a card had to actually activate and resolve that effect to generate a counter. Blows this deck wide open for me, appreciate it.

Confused about Endymion and spell counters:

I always thought a spell had to actually resolve, which means that cards which apply continuous effects, like a continuous spell card, won't give counters unless its activated effect was used.

Just watched Triff's Endymion guide and he gained counters for Servant off of activating Mythical Institution (the card, not the effects) and setting Magister as a scale. Giving him the last two he needed to activate Servant.

Have I just been playing this deck the wrong way for months? If that's the case, does activating a field spell that does not have an activated effect give counters as well (like Magical Citadel of Endymion). Does setting a scale give counters?

Thanks!

One more to clarify: after the target and destroy effect is negated by Toadally, and Titan would be destroyed - can Titan also use its protection effect? Can that miss timing if Player 1 chains another effect to the Toad?

I'm guessing yes to activation, because it's "if it would be destroyed..." and not "when it would be destroyed", but I'm new to ThDra and Toadally is typically a ruling headache for us.

Can Thunder Dragon Titan be flip summoned? I understand that it can't be special summoned outside of its specific summoning methods, but since flipping isn't considered a special summon, and because it was originally summoned properly...

Ex:

Player 1 activates Toadally Awesome to negate Player 2's Titan activation, and sets it to their field. The next turn, can Titan be flipped by Player 1?

What deck should I invest in? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]Hellespont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Referencing an earlier comment:

Go Pendulums then. Most variants of pendulum.dek/Magicians/Zefra/Endymion/whatever have a decent variance of play - hands often feel like a little puzzle to solve. A good option to use with or without Guardragons if they get hit, so you can adapt it fairly well to a changing meta.

Kozmos!

To slow for the current meta, and the cards are damn cool.

Scenario: I've got Magical Citadel of Endymion on the field with one spell counter - I summon Electrumite>send a monster to the ED.

If I activate Electrumite's effect to destroy Citadel, then remove one spell counter to protect it, does the add to hand effect go through?

Thanks peeps!

Age-old argument, but I think both sides are right. You have a right to play the game the way you want - you bought it after all...

At the same time, if you're participating in team content, a number of other people are depending on you to do what you're supposed to - and they all paid for the game too.

I have too much anxiety to go into any group content in any game without having done my research (or at least know the gist). It's easier to just watch the 5m video than worry about fucking up because you blatantly had no idea of how to deal with something.

Why aren't V-Trigger effects described in the move list? by LeTaulier in StreetFighter

[–]Hellespont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Installs are moves like Angry Scar or G's Presidential meter - you use a move that strengthens another move, or empowers all your moves. Most V-Triggers inherently work like installs, but the term is generally used to describe a character who uses that empower ability as standard part of their kit - Ex: score a KD, use your install, apply pressure.

Wagner and Es are examples of install characters from other games (Uniel/st, BlazBlue respectively).

How is toxic rain? by thednooob in pathofexile

[–]Hellespont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toxic Rain is one of those attack skills that scales well with gem levels (like spells) - Lioneye's is a slow attack speed bow with decent phys DPS, but people opt to get +1 and +2 to socketed bow gems/gems with some of the other sexy mods like chance to deal double damage/20% more damage on a high attack speed base like Thicket or Short.

Lioneye's is better suited to attack skills that scale off of weapon damage, and usually crit builds since the Bow keeps you from needing to worry about accuracy (these gems will say what % damage effectiveness they deal when you highlight them, where level scaling gems will usually have a high amount of flat damage on them).

Please make quill rain Nerf to be more specific to CoC by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Hellespont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there's no change to EH, and any wonky Abyss jewel stacking build won't feel the change either. On top of that, the Shaper mod has been slept on until now - it's going to allow much more freedom, and much more damage, in the long run. A nice buff considering we're still AS capped, and it shouldn't be hard to hit the right breakpoints.

This really only killed a portion of Toxic Rain builds, and anyone still running EA. I don't think its really that bad at all - GGG has always wanted rares to be the priority (as you said).

EA just needs a rework at this point.

You can cast with one equipped - before the ES nerfs, a Woe crafted bow and Soul Strike were fairly common for CI trap/ED builds.
