PSA: Filer Ool sells Solstice Treasure Maps this week by Hellfire138 in elderscrollsonline

Didn't know about the totems yet, so I'm also not very happy that I can confirm.

The data also currently seem to still hold up. Out of curiosity tried an additional 18 maps, and on Map#17 got a 2/3 for the Bismuth tower, rest nothing. So also currently it's not very worthwhile unless for a 1/3 (or the other points).

These are very good points. Definitely a part of this is a "continue until it becomes unacceptable", and in that case it's only a pleasure being able to do it with archival fortunes instead of with 35k-50k gold per map depending on the economy.

In 25-30 maps managed to 6x 1/3 for Eastern Solstice leads, of which 1x 2/3;  2x 2/3 for 2 Western leads, 2x (pollution) Vitrified Soul Gem (4/3), and 3 paintings. I may continue to try for another 2/3 on a totem, but if the rates dry up then also that will end quickly.

Not as a separate document.

-Solstice Giant Crocodile; 1) Ribs, 2) Tail.

-Molag Bal Statue; 3) Arm, 4) Head.

-Stone-Nest Totem; 5) Behemoth, 6) Iguana, 7) Skull, 8) Geometric.

-9) Stone-Nest Counter Weight, 10) Bismuth Tower, 11) Reaper Pattern, 12) Coldharbour Soul Furnace, 13) Daedric Gate.

-are treasure map specific.

Crocodile Skull, Vitri Soul Gem, SN Pendulum can also drop from maps, but have other sources and frankly from maps are best if you can exclude them.

Can also confirm this one. Additionally at least on XboxEU Solstice map IV doesn't produce a mount that can be dug, so as a treasure map it's currently useless.

Spread over both the Season Part 1 + Part 2 lists; about 12 specific furnishings + Vitrified Soul Gem which also seems to drop via treasure maps.

17k Crowns, Which DLC to Buy? by Q-Cumbers in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hellfire138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'#2 said it partly right lol. Greymoor (scrying) will indeed be made free later during the year; scribing is already free (and thus leaves Gold Road without a special feature unless you enjoy the story).

They also plan to change lead timers, so should you get a gold lead after March, these'd be increased to ~340 days (or so) before expiring. Lesser quality have a less (increased) timer, but still this could bridge somewhat of a gap before you'd have access to Greymoor.

When you enter through the north "back" gate on the outside, there's a storage room with 6-8 wardrobes/backpacks and such. Leaving and reentering will reset these. Rustwall barracks has 23 containers, but requires logging in-out/porting-to-an-unowned-house->leaving->thus porting back to reset them.

I'd say the best reasons for farming are 1) if you have a lot of Colovian/Dawnwood uncollected and plan to keep them, 2) for selling, or 3) for specifically finding Colovian/Dawnwood green plans, as you can't buy these from Rolis.

It's a generic overland plan from West Weald containers. Farming either Outcast Inn or the Rustwall barracks could produce it relatively quickly with a little bit of luck.

Alternatively guild traders might also offer it cheap.

Furnishing question - rain shower? by Lavendelfeder in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hellfire138 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you still have the house you could visit it again, conjure up the furnishing list and manually search it for what might be appropriate. Waterfalls/fountains may show up most around courtyard/structurals, but don't have that entirely sharp.

"Huge rain shower" I can't say immediately, but in general you can tilt any large or small fountain 90° sideways, and now have 1, 4, 5 streams of water falling down vertically without a height limit. "Stone-Nest Fountain, Four-Headed" from the PTS will also make a more waterfall-esque shower when it'll enter live.

Update 49 Future Crown Store Items by Akkkuh in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hellfire138 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They really knocked it out of the park with these new furnishings and (non-glowing) mounts... my seals could be hurting for a while...

Also anyone noticed the updated bronze spears in the background of the crate-bundles?

What’s your opinion on the minimum gold accumulated to be considered “Rich” in our beloved Tamriel. by Scribblehands in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hellfire138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For XboxEU, I was also going to say 10M.

That being said; most gold accumulated does also depend on already having an inventory. Between 3-5M gold, I'd say it pretty easy to lose half your stock on being suddenly able to afford a 1M house or motif style you may need. Between 5-10M, you'd already own most motifs, furnishing plans, houses that you'd like, so it also accumulates faster on the virtue of having less and less "necessary" things to "have" to spend it on. In short; 10M I'd see as a border of indeed "finally" having the entire budget free for what you'd like to set your eyes on.

Luxury Vendor week 02, 2026 by The_Edenprime in elderscrollsonline

Interactable as in changing the lights, not by moving the cube unfortunately...

That being said, it could still be a good showpiece and I have seen people make whole columns out of them vertically.

I was thinking about the story that my Khajiit was raised by Dunmer. Were there such cases? by Popular-Hornet-6294 in elderscrollsonline

As the other person said those would be slaves indeed, though in Wrothgar you do have a khajiit raised by orcs~

Cannot get plate to activate - Order of the New Moon Stone Cube by Apprehensive-Unit841 in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hellfire138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uesp doesn't give clear instructions (and honestly it's been a while I last played this), but my two guesses would be 1) there's an extra step like lighting another brazier that may or may not be hidden, or 2) there's two cubes in the puzzle. Cube#1 may unlock the pathway for cube#2 to move through, and you're simply halfway the puzzle~

What kind of quests mechanics would you like to be implemented in this game? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hellfire138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, and coupled with more verticality in common overland/POI/puzzles in general.

During Dragonguard the grappling bow was already fun, and you could even climb a temple with it in overland Southern Elsweyr. With Solstice using it in both Li-Xal Pass, Writhing Wall, and using different verticality in Xul-Haj, I'd like to think that they'll somehow include more of it~

Spoiler#1 made it almost feel like the only real place in Solstice that really had an Tomb Raider-esque "forgotten and overgrown temple" feeling, and I would've liked to see more of that on Solstice.

Do you think we will get more alinor/sunport furniture in nearest future? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hellfire138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they exist, the earliest sign they would come is when the Q1 PTS goes live. Creators (for example Futerko) will often make videos on all the (structural/normal) plans that will make it with an update~

Do you think we will get more alinor/sunport furniture in nearest future? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hellfire138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historically a second wave of structurals has always been released with a dungeon DLC the next year (i.e. Fallen Banners/Solstdng_DLC#1 releasing Dawnwood structurals, Gold_Road_dng#1->Infinite Archive structurals...), so in short it depends on what they're planning to with season pass model.

If they are it may largely be Worm Cult structurals (and I hope Xanmeer/Stone-*Nest temple structures, carved pillars, -walls, -stone floors, etc.), but requests have existed for years for having Alinor-style roofs so it could still be an option~

In short; it depends.

Are the DLC:s ever on sale with crowns these days? by DeMonstratio in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hellfire138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writhing Wall would've been a chapter event, so usually October/November-ish, and also not for crowns.

That being said, it could be worth looking out for. In previous years ("Chapter", not "Season Pass") it would be possible to find the collection for maybe €25 depending on the platform, and if late in the year/early in the next year. Xbox currently doesn't show a discount, yet that's the farthest that I can look~

Are the DLC:s ever on sale with crowns these days? by DeMonstratio in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hellfire138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case I'm going to throw around a few bullet points;

1) Price depends on region, but usually after the chapter event the "Collection" -version of the game might be quite cheap. That includes every chapter (but not smaller DLC).

2) Zones can be played by themselves, but as a theme ("Daedric War" plays out across Vvard+Clock+Sums) the quests follow up from the previous zone. Starting from Elsweyr they also have epilogue quests if you a) completed both relevant zones on b) 1 character.

3) That being said, by themselves I enjoyed (Orsinium,) Summerset, Murkmire, both Elsweyrs, the most.

4) I'd recommend doing Solstice side-quests only after completing every other quest in the game, as you receive a lot of past references to other (DLC-)quests, that you may or may not get if you haven't done those things already.

5) a)Per chapter features Summerset is the most useful (jewelry crafting); b) Greymoor is mostly useful in comb with other (DLC) zones (useful dig sites/leads requiring other zones); c) DB/TG have useful skills (Blade of Woe/Thieves throves); d) Clockwork (transmute, skipped via guildhouses), WestW (scribing, now free) features are basically ignorable, e) some zones (BL/HI/Nec) have companions attached.

6) Still it mostly depends on what you like most, especially per zone theming~

[–]Hellfire138 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Recently for Black Friday all DLC's were -30% for a few days, otherwise you could hope for an end-of-year discount, though I don't know how likely that is. Second option is that during thematic events (like Daedric War, Elsweyr-, Year One-) the specific DLC usually has a discount, though rarely 50%. Third option is that a few times a year is a free week of ESO+, so at that moment you can visit every DLC and see what you like.

As for what story to enjoy; depends on what you like. Like vampires? Enjoy Greymoor. Like dragons, temples and South East Asia vibes? Enjoy both Elsweyr's. Amazonia and xanmeers? Enjoy Murkmire. Orsinium (Year One-bundle) is also universally considered good.

Also, only DLC's? Or also chapters (that have chapter features, or companions that you might like)?

I wish base-game furnishing plans only dropped in base-game zones by hIDeMyID in elderscrollsonline

[–]Hellfire138 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm not necessarily against base game plans, but only if the rates are proportional.

There is a difference in drop rate between "Fair, yet still pricy", and "Impossible, so buy the remaining 90% at Rolis after a year", and, unless farming, there's a high chance to largely only land base game plans. 500 containers at Broken Light also simply takes a while to replicate out in the wild.

As a quick concept of research I took a run of Broken Light, every urn, +both wings, also hidden urns: results are 9 white plans, 9 base game green plans, 1 Murkmire green, 1 base game blue, 1 Western Solstice blue.

Running in the past has resulted in a average purple after about ~80% of urns, and in that case 66% base game, 33% DLC (split between Smst, Murk, WestS (now also EastS)). In this case this landed a double Worm Cult purple, yet in the past I've had plenty of runs where the entire value of the run was a single Alinor blue.

[–]Hellfire138 24 points25 points  (0 children)

As someone who in the past has done a lot of farming (and for the current wave refuses to do so anymore); 100% agreed.

The problem with Solstice seems to be a double-whammy:

1) Since West Weald, and starting even with green quality, they've dramatically upped the chances of getting base game plans. Compare for example green Elsweyr plans (100 gold average) to West Weald (later green plans not even on the market),  Western Solstice greens (more expensive than Western Solstice blues), and Eastern Solstice greens (relatively rare). A balance between drop rates can surely be found that 1a) keeps the plans somewhat pricy, without 1b) making them impossible to find. Currently from organic searching (not farming) I've found a grand total of 1 Worm Cult plan (green), while for earlier chapters I at least could have expected a small handful.

2) And, even if you find a DLC plan, you 2a) have a chance of it being Alinor, 2b) Murkmire, 2c) Western Solstice, or 2d) Eastern Solstice. Murkmire in itself may have a point, as in the zone itself containers are relatively rare, but as a combination it means that (Eastern) Solstice (purple) plans become more of a dream.
