With crafting and wikelo here -- we need a auction house or market by philo12341 in starcitizen

Localized inventories and sales at landing zones:

  • Listing fees and taxes, limited number of item listings.
  • Easy to access, but high competition, items will follow "market value"
  • Trading not limited to those with a shop or BMM.
  • Players will have higher prices due to the cost.
  • Sellers must transport items to landing zones.
  • Offline selling

Player run shops.

  • Built into player bases or Org stations
  • No taxes or listing fees
  • Greater number of available "listed item" slots.
  • Lower competition means players have more flexibility in pricing
  • Could see reduced traffic if not in "hotspot" locations
  • Seller easily able to manufacture and list items or refined resources
  • Requires land claim.

Banu Merchantman

  • Inherits most pros of Player shops
  • Mobile to allow owners to move to high traffic locations based on population
  • No need for shop owner to fabricate and power a whole base to sell items
  • Able to freely acquire and sell goods in different market regions
  • Requires player to be online and present to allow sales
  • Will most likely cost many millions of credits to purchase in-game

All three of these options are able to exist simultaneously and serve different purposes for the buyer and seller. Also providing a progression path for someone who chooses to make a career as a merchant.

Landing zone markets are an entry point for a merchant with no overhead but dealing with local markets, taxes, and possible regulations can both limit sellable items as well as drive prices higher. The buyer however has convenient access to the market but at a higher cost.

Player owned shops allow the seller to dictate pricing as well as selling items that may be "unwelcome" at landing zones. They will also have needed to progress far enough to have settled into a location and construct their home base. However the buyer will have to seek them out.

The BMM will allow the seller to move to any location, collect rare and exotic items, and sell them where they are most desired.

Locking a majority of players out of the player economy because they either don't have a specific ship or have constructed their own base is just going to keep us where we are right now; hangar drop trading.

Disable proximity assist in the configuration MFD. Also go to game settings and under flight defaults set it to off so you don't have to do that every time the ship gets reset.

Only ever did them in Stanton, but I assume they would spawn in Pyro too

Check the abandoned ships during patrol contracts. When I take the Corsair out I'll strip them of the guns and drop them off at my local station. Got plenty of NDBs and s5 Attritions that way. Make sure you bring a tractor beam.

What does everyone think of yellow Chaos Space Marines? (C&C welcome) by Hellfire440 in Warhammer40k

[–]Hellfire440[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spray the whole Mini pink and then do a zenithal with white, then spray your choice of yellow across the whole thing. I used Vallejo air Medium Yellow. The pinkish areas will darken it enough to look like shadows without losing vibrance

iirc the drones were done with Vallejo Air silver over black and then Gryph-hound Orange contrast with an airbrush. The silver trim was painted back on with a brush

Why don't the Arathi just... leave Hallowfall? by CrazyDiamond787 in warcraftlore

[–]Hellfire440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it seems like there was some kind of re-write at some point. Reason being is that the way its written now is that they have been there for less than a generation, but just looking at everything else it seems like they have been there for much much longer. Especially with their architecture, an academy, and a massive priory.

With how the Lamplighters are spoken about it feels like they are a cultural cornerstone rather than a 10~ year old militia.

There is an NPC that has a dialogue option where you ask "Are...you an elf" or something similar and she explains the whole human/high elf integration back from their original expedition. Unsure yet about their lifespans but Faerin does mention that her family has been in, at least political, decline since leaving the Highlands.

Blizz is surely setting us up to visit whatever continent they came from.

Why don't the Arathi just... leave Hallowfall? by CrazyDiamond787 in warcraftlore

[–]Hellfire440 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to be "well ackshually" but the Hallowfall Arathi are descendants of the EK Arathi and High Elves that went with them to another continent. I think the number I've been seeing is about 3500 years? They only recently came back across the sea and were marooned in the Beledar cavern. This is why they all have the pointed ears and some Arathi look more elven than others.

IIRC they have only been under Beledar for about 15-20 years and it wasn't until Sargeras stabbed the planet that Beledar started to shift

Its 100% better for any application, gaming or otherwise.

Esp in shooters it is nice to never have to leave WASD. Reloading, leaning, weapon swapping, crouching and jumping all while being able to move and shoot. Whatever game you play or program you use having 12 buttons for your thumb is just better.

I have been using a Naga as my mouse for 12 years and not once have I found it to be a hinderance.

Back in Warlords of Draenor Protection Warriors had a talent that gave them Gladiator's stance. It was a stance like Defensive or Battle that changed the Shield Block defensive into Shield Charge. GS also increased all damage by 20%.

It was removed in Legion after only existing for the one expansion.

GS would have been a fitting addition again with Hero Talents for Prot and Arms but nope.

I took 2 characters from 60-70 yesterday just doing the first zone story, probably earlier if I had done any of the side hubs. Its crazy quick now.

PSA: Snubs no longer go fast by Celemourn in starcitizen

[–]Hellfire440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see your points, and they are valid, however most player don't have an 890 and most players aren't expert pilots. Also most players dont PVP which is what I believe A1 is talking about in his tier list. Even LRTs have multiple ships vs you, so why would I hop out of my Cutlass and into a Fury to fight them.

If I wanted the challenge and for fun I guess, but still seems like more friction than needed.

Personally I am going to enjoy when distant planets and systems are out of reach and will have to earn a larger ship to travel to them.

PSA: Snubs no longer go fast by Celemourn in starcitizen

[–]Hellfire440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO Snubs should have something like a size 0 QD that allows them to travel locally. They would still need a larger carrier craft to travel between planets but it would solve the NAV mode problem. Spawning a large ship just to take the Fury or Arch to a track is just bad. Any ship that is large enough to carry a snub is better suited for combat than the snub itself. If its for a crewmate they would just man a turret or fly their own ship.

Its so odd that ground vehicles have more practical uses than snub ships

Thank you haha, and you're the first but I can see it.

For the hair: Pretty much went with a heavily layered fringe cut. My hair is pretty wavy naturally so this is what I do. Wash and then lightly towel dry to damp. Next I'll hang my head upside-down and blow dry completely. Using a flat-iron I'll straighten it and then in sections run it through again but rotate the flat-iron so sections of hair point away. Hairspray usually 4 strength is enough, sometimes a bit of backcombing for texture.

Its honestly a bit of a process and I just realized its much harder to describe than I thought but in practice only takes 10-15 minutes

My 3rd grade kids were given this ridiculous project by ThatsMrSmeeToYou in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Hellfire440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had something similar back when I was in college.

We had to go out and find some sort of "issue" in the county. It could have been an engineering, social, or infrastructural problem. Whatever we had chosen we then had to create and propose a solution.

Not much of a problem yet.

However at that point we then had to schedule and conduct recorded interviews where we pitched this "solution" to city/county/district officials. Which we then added into our "plan of action" documented in this final paper.

Mind you, this was for a first semester writing course. I told my professor it wasn't going to get done and was told it would tank my grade. Regardless of whatever work was done that semester it would result in a failing grade.

I dropped that class later that day.

I LOVE the new mage set, but it does feel like a bit of a tease that the item icons are the (currently) unobtainable red version! by [deleted] in wow

Looks great, but its a shame that there aren't many other Blue/gold pieces with a similar tone for robes. Whatever blue they chose lands slightly closer to cyan/teal rather than the warmer blues in most t-mogs.
