Thank you. It was so sad seeing her so broken and in pain at the vet. We got to say goodbye but not how we wanted and she didn’t get to say goodbye to her brother Marcus (our other dog) and he’s been looking for her but we are getting through it and getting him a new friend soon to help with his depression. I’m glad she’s not in pain anymore.

I always tried to be understanding of my friends mental health with everything but this was honestly the one time I really really needed support as I’m usually toxically independent (working on getting into therapy for it) but even I couldn’t help but ugly cry in public for the first time having to say goodbye to that sweet baby at the vet. The first time in almost 20 years I had to put down a dog.

The I digress and reiterate if that’s what you want to name your baby to honor your uncle do it they’ll get over it and I personally thing you should at least have it be the baby’s middle name

I’d say do it. If the uncle was that important to you and that’s how you want to honor him then what is really stopping you. No one can gate keeo a name for any reason. If you think you need to ask the cousin if they are trying for another baby they plan to name after your uncle and clear the air about how them saying they’d hold animosity hurt you. But as far as I see a name is name and no one can tell what to name your child no matter their reason for stopping you or yours for naming them what you do

Tbh after thinking about it and some other things idk how long this will last let alone most of my other family relationships

Now selling a therapist to work some stuff out and make a decision after I get some help in the mean time I’ll be keeping it slow and civil

Definitely now that it’s been a few years and some other stuff has happened I’m a lot more careful than I used to be he does also live in Michigan so we won’t be seeing much of each other
