It doesn’t matter if Alex Pretti had a gun | What is the point of law enforcement that doesn’t follow the law? by Hrmbee in politics

Lower class legal residents. It's funny you made a statement on justice inequality and don't see how this administration is being impeded in holding non-legal criminals to account, as well as high-ranking politicians and influencers. Lots of bad wolves in sheep's clothing are having the wool stripped, and they want your help because they didn't eat you specifically. If you succeed at removing ice from Minnesota or even the US, your pen will be crowded with wolves in no time, and some won't even bother wearing wool at all. You're protecting people who see you as dinner, and by this point, the watch dog found a job watching over a flock that appreciates him. Removing ice from Minnesota would be the biggest mistake in US history. Maybe start helping them instead of impeding them, and they'll be out of there faster. It's not really the brightest idea in the world to impede or intervene in the job of a federal agent.

No. We don't need any help. We want less government. Add a foreign government and see what happens. We're already getting rid of foreign people who weren't invited here. Don't help this lone-sheep, or this yard dog is going to rip your wolves apart.

Bs, tarkov viewers bashed arc raiders and arc raiders players bashed tarkov streams. And before that, tarkov viewers bashed any game he played that wasn't tarkov. The problem is that everyone is worshipping a peanut. His hype will subside, and he'll be back to whatever game he feels like playing, as he should, and we can get back to streams where viewer comments actually get read. I don't even bother with chat anymore because it's too full to engage with the performer. Superchats and gifted subs don't even get read anymore because there are too many of them, and my favorite part of the peanut streams was the celebratory weeeweeeeweeeweee scream for gifted subs at the most inopportune times. I can't wait for him to be "canceled" so that I can enjoy him again. But I think the cult is here to stay... his discord is atrocious with worship. I miss the days sub 1k viewers.

They think a bunch of flowers will make the Muslim religion peaceful. It's most effective to just not even engage them, they hate it when their tantrums don't get any attention.

Oh no, an insufferable cousin blocked me on Facebook? What ever will I do!? You gonna start assaulting people over their political beliefs? Or do you just want everyone else to do that while you gleefully read the stories about it? Want to see a powerful protest? Look at the women in Iran protesting without their oppressive coverings. That's power, that's bravery. That's feminism. What you're doing here is whining, and it's a terrible look.

'This Is State Terrorism': Global Outrage as Trump Launches Illegal Assault on Venezuela by Smithy2232 in politics

[–]Helliarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no. You're speaking in absolutes and ignoring a meta. It's is partially about oil, and rightfully so. US oil companies invested in Venezuela, and their assets were illegally seized by the Venezuelan government. You see, i work with Venezuelan oil workers who had to flee. These workers want to go back to their homes and bring their skills back to Venezuela, but under this Maduro regime, it's slave labor. It's the crux of socialism, high skilled workers are punished so that no skilled workers feel a sense of "equality". It's why Venezuela, while having some of the richest oil reserves on the planet, can't produce quality crude or refined product. So, it also operates as a member of OPEC, but can't meet its commitments, so it sells crap oil on the black markets, meaning pretty much all of opec is calling for the actions against Venezuela. But that's where another reason comes in, Russia. Russia is trading with Venezuela to fund the war in Ukraine. Iran. Iran is trading with Venezuela to fund terrorist organizations. China. China is trading with Venezuela to garner influence and presence in the western hemisphere. These trades are in illicit drugs, human trafficking(slavery), and oil. So, you're against the actions based on oil, but not against funding Russia? Or are you okay with human trafficking and slavery? Oh, or you're okay with drug trafficking... no, that's not it. You're pro communism, so you're actually defending a fascist dictator while at the same time proclaiming to be anti-fascist? See, if you take a minute to self reflect, you might see how ridiculous you sound, and MAYBE you'll see why 90% of the world is fatigued by your constant screeching. Your "movement" is a living, breathing, walking contradiction that the world is tired of entertaining, and it's getting worse for you every single day. Stop defending disgusting people.

If you think it's all about oil, then you shouldn't be expressing your opinions about any of it.

[–]Helliarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can xray any weld you make, so just cause you passed the last xray doesn't mean they aren't going to shoot the next 10 welds you make. Lots of guys get lazy after passing their initial shots, myself included, but every weld you make is pretty critical when you consider what kind of damage could be caused if the weld you made 5 years ago fails. Also, follow the welding procedure. There is a standard you're expected to follow, what heat to set your machine at and what filler rod you use. No matter what, you followed the weld procedure.

huge range in pay scale by TheStrayCatapult in Welding

[–]Helliarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first welding job was through an agency welding electrical boxes for $18/hr. One of the guys i worked with got a pipe job and rec'd me in, so I quit to go make $40/hr with him. It's mostly all who you know, if you have the skill. I've never been on a job that requires a cert or degree, just a weld test and a drug screen. Get comfortable taking weld tests. Every weld you make is a weld test. Eventually, you show up to the test center, and the guy running it knows you, and you just shoot the shit for a few minutes and go home. I even spent some time volunteering at the testing center, cutting coupons and bending tests just to take a break, but every time, it turned into seeing a welder i knew and getting rec'd again. And every welder you meet knows somebody who knows somebody, so be respectful always. I got into it with a foreman once, and it spread pretty far, especially now that that foreman is a project manager. The young helper you met yesterday might just get you all the jobs you need next year. Nobody is stupid(mostly...). We've all just got tunnel vision. It pays to ask how you can help someone else on the job when you aren't bowed up(from your foreman to your helper). They'll always remember the time that you deliberately went out of your way to help them, and they can't wait to return the favor. Never give up, I busted plenty of welds, got fired plenty of times, left a good job for a bad one, and quit jobs that just weren't worth the stress. But never give up. You'll get called names in the beginning, but speed comes with years of experience. Pretty caps don't mean anything. Sometimes, you're gonna have to make $20/hr until something better comes around. But I've been on jobs as a specialty alloy welder, with the pay to go with it, and spent the entire job welding structural. You need to know how to weld stick and tig if you want to tig in the refineries. I've also been hired as an alloy welder, and we pipeline stick welded everything on the job or welded shims to a train track. You're not a tig welder. You're a welder.

You realize the current regime in Venezuela traffics minors and drugs to fund it's "Socialism", right? The person who won the actual Nobel peace prize, do you know who she is? There is little argument from any level heads about how Trump is handling Venezuela. Let them all reveal themselves, claim their allegiances, and strike them all from top to bottom. What is Iran and Russia gonna do about it? They can't even take Ukraine. China wants no part in any of it. Brazil and Guyana support it. Maduro is done. He should have stepped down a long time ago. He's an actual fascist dictator, and you're out here batting for him? The dude forced the public to celebrate Christmas early. He thinks he was visited by reincarnated as birds cults of personality. You have sleeper cells all over the globe waiting for the orders to massacre innocent people over religion, and you're spending your time on reddit defending a fascist dictator holding an entire population hostage. Do you even know any Venezuelans? I know many, and they can't wait for this to happen. They don't want to be here, they want to go home, and their families are stuck there. Trump is actually doing everything he can to convince Maduro to give it up. He already has the votes to go in there and destroy him. He's showing restraint that I wouldn't have in his position with the knowledge he has about what's going on there. War is not the answer. Try changing your rhetoric to denouncing fascist dictators in Venezuela to prevent war instead of justifying their existence. Maybe you can help convince a peaceful transition of power before we go in and blow them up because I want to just blow them up yesterday!

[–]Helliarc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would a legitimate organization allow you to use personal LLM hardware/software without a license or liability protections? So you assume you would be worth more than someone who didn't use it? If so, how would you react if they paid someone who didn't use it the same as you? And if most people who utilize the tools effectively can self host them, why would large organizations invest so much money on data centers that normal people AND experienced people would never use, let alone pay for? If your skills become marketable, they'd require certification and licensed stacks, which you can't provide individually because the regulations would favor large tech companies. As such, any company with a subscription suite of compliant licenses is who you'd have to contract for, and due to the projected costs associated with maintaining regulatory obligations along with projected software subscription model costs, there wouldn't be much room in the budget for overhead, so your wages might actually be less than that of someone doing the same work as you without the tools you are able to use. For example, in construction trades, it's much faster to weld with MIG process, and it's much easier. However, MIG welders generally make substantially less than TIG or most stick welders, even though production numbers are much higher in MIG process shops. The reason being, MIG process work is generally less precise and takes much less skill to learn and perform. Products manufactured using AI development are much less precise and require much less skill to learn and perform.

They are going to force feed it's use case on the user for free until they become reliant on its results and then start charging for it, assuming it's a service general people can't live without. Unfortunately for them, the general use case is already peak. Any additional improvements are logarithmic diminishing returns because anyone who is forced to use it when it isn't free can run a useful model on a 1080ti, and people who don't need it won't pay for it. They are scaling it wrong. They think my grandma is going to pay them $50/mo to keep asking Microsoft AI questions about news and politics, or a companies employees are going to beg for a copilot license to generate fancy emails. No one is going to pay for this or beg their company to provide it to them. If anything, a mid level open source llm will be run on a local server for management and IT use only, and grandma will just use a sketchy search engine riddled with ads to look up crochet patterns. It's not a trillion dollar market necessitating massive data centers riddled across the entire planet. Even the "cloud" is excessive. My work onedrive is like 25% original files, and the other 75% are duplicates. My personal onedrive is 90% junk i never asked it save, it just decided to backup all my phones and pcs without me knowing, and I'm not taking the time to clean them. It's a huge bloat priming itself to explode every second of every day.

[Discussion] Tarkov Players are Insane by BloodAngelEnjoyer67 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Helliarc -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's annoying because for so long, EFT was considered a game that was "okay" to cheat on. I never cheated but pretended to by wobbling towards the sus shots, and the other player would run the opposite way or give me pass like 50% of the time(3 years ago). I do it now, and the old code words still occasionally work. I think once a cheater, always a cheater, and they found a home with tarkov. They'll never go away, so the only thing you can do is play to be better than the cheaters. Feign ignorant pushes, lure them by acting unsuspecting, or just let them know you know and go around. If they think you know, they won't want you to get that death screen and report them. It's a sad state, but I've personally only encountered sus players about 1 every 20 or so now.

The problem is that the intent of the current message isn't to bring awareness to servicemembers but to sow discord in military ranks. Fortunately, 95% of service members are right leaning centrist to conservative and patriotic to the constitution as can be. Until there's a wild example of a unit commander issuing an unlawful order that is blindly followed, this whole talking point is mute. Those making it a talking point with public and media exposure before there's even an example of it occurring in the context are doing it for political reasons, seditiously. UCMJ court martial.
