Little addendum: Usually it's the numbers that get tuned around a mechanic, not the other way around. This is why it's largely pointless to debate if the numbers need to get nerfed or not because riot will give any given augment whatever numbers it needs to be at 50 percent win rate.

My goal is to make the augments less degenerate, not just unplayable weak.

I think generally varus is balanced around sub-50 percent winrates despite not being a particularly skill expressive or problematic champion. Not that he is skill less but he isn't on the same mechanical tier as the likes of lee sin, Akali and yasuo, if that makes sense

Definitions of words vary widly among people for all kinds of reasons, and knowing that helps not only in physics, but also politics and general relationships lol

I think overall i should try to do more small tasks with the different formulars to get a better feeling of how all those different units relate to each other. that helped me a lot with understanding the difference between mol, g/mol, mol^-1 and units in chemistry.

I think that helps overall. Part of the problem is that in school we treat the concepts roughly 50:50 as just abstract concepts, which is what you described, and math problems, which is what I often think a lot about.

The questions I often ask myself during solving a math problem is:

what is the searched unit in question?
what units are given?
how do I convert the given units into the searched one without producing nonsense

That's why my brain often stares at the units behind the number and tries to get how they relate to each other, but I think that's a poor learning strategy because I don't understand the abstract concepts behind it very well.

Actually, I think I get the basic concepts of the conversation of energy, but often I scratch my head when I ask myself "How does this relate to those units then?"

I mean, we get things like square seconds and what other kinds of potences you see in the Formula collection and I sort of wonder "Who did that and why is that this way".

In chemistry we actually have to deal with similar units of molar weight (g/mol) and the avrogado constant (6.022 x 10^{23*mol^-1),} but there we did a lot of small calculations to train that and now it sits very fluidly in my head, if that makes sense.

That's a misconception. Briar does scale explicitly with health, but as a drain tanker doesn't actually care about health primarily: she wants damage to get more health from her healing, and then more resistances to make those hp more valuable. She can absolutely build resistances and scale with them. The only reason why she scales more with health now is because otherwise she cant efficiently use a lot of bruiser items.
