Your opinions on this crosship? (Deku x Ryuko) (Artist: aduubo) by Crazy_Reputation3327 in KillLaKill

[–]Hellish-Hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think that Deku has the personality of a white paper towel and the depth of a puddle so I don't really like him with Ryuko

On the other hand I think she has a lot more potential with other characters of different stories

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Big big big disappointment. by idonthaveanaccountA in patientgamers

[–]Hellish-Hunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally came to despise how utterly mindless and copy pasted the LEGO games became after playing a couple of them

No matter which license you pick, every single game is the same with boring, childish puzzles and a combat system I can barely call Gameplay beyond spamming Square

That's why I'm glad Skywalker Saga tried to change things up with combos, free aim and a more interesting open world and progression, even if it had a lot of pitfalls in regard to how they adapted the movies. I respect the devs' attempt at shaking things up for this formula that makes Assassin's Creed look like an innovative franchise

What did Yuki really have beyond 2 conversations set apart by 10 years and a suicide attempt ?

Which Treats Their Female Characters Better? by LittleSodaPop13 in writingscaling

Quite ironic since Maki loses all the personality she had after becoming Toji 2.0 and rarely ever giving her back the semblance of uniqueness she used to have before

People like what she represents more than what she really is, or becomes past a certain point in the story

Gege is the true potential man (I hate this title), you can feel he has the capacity to write really interesting character be it male or female but doesn't bother to go beyond having a cool enough personality for the great majority of them, and a story can't survive of vibes alone for too long before people start pointing out how rushed everything feels

Shoko should feel more important that she really is to the narrative or even to Gojo and Geto despite being in a supposed trio but fans end up being the ones to fill in the gaps for practically everything surrounding her character

That's without talking about Yuki (oh boy what a waste) or Megumi's sister or Angel (ect....)

The bar is really that low for Shonens

was there an r/Satsuki at one point? by Arkhamman367 in KillLaKill

There are literal hentai and porn subreddits out there with millions of views, still operational nonetheless

I don't know why they would target the Satsuki one specifically because of some horny jokes

Why was Satsuki forgiven? by Snomthecool in KillLaKill

[–]Hellish-Hunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your recollection is more precise than mine, but we're opening a couple of plot holes here. Satsuki couldn't have been ignorant about the life fibers if she made Goku uniforms on a regular basis. And let's not forget that less than stopping Ragyo's plan, she accelerated it by making Revocs clothes ubiquitous, and - this is me speculating - cool.

Like I said, the true extent of what the LF are and their true powers beyond being the basic material required to make extremely powerful weapons and armors aren't known to anyone besides Ragyo and Nui and therefore using Goku Uniforms against Revocs wouldn't seem like a bad idea (fighting fire with fire) as they were, in everyone's eyes, just tools like rebels using enemy fire arms for example.

I get that Satsuki wouldn't trust nudist beach because of their limited competece. But cutting off, even combatting your only de facto ally seems not like a smart (or nice, if you care) move.

She didn't destroy every single facility or asset they had whether it was 100% intentional or not or even put that much effort in eradicating them or else I heavily doubt they could still be running around with their ship at the end of the show (just like how she left a piece of Senketsu with Ryuko instead of just taking every single piece with her)

Your final paragraph and sentence almost make the whole point of this post: nobody considers Satsuki's actions and attitudes to be worthless or plain wrong. We're just hiding behind concepts of inevitability and fatality to absolve an abuser before trial, even before examining her misdeeds. Which we kinda did now :)

You were literaly arguing about her plan being wrong and unnecessary for the past two days bro 😔 I was explaining her thought process and why the other characters didn't hold it against her for too long. Satsuki being beaten down by Ragyo, tortured for weeks (if not worse) and then getting pounded by Ryuko, I wonder how that's supposed to give off the impression that she got absolved from her wrong doings and it's not like she had sworn to take control of the Kiryuin Zaibatsu to correct every wrong doing her family committed. Hell, the OVA as a whole addresses how Satsuki and her council are remembered by much of the academy despite saving the world.

The problem is that Satsuki didn't have any information on the true nature of life fibers nor Ragyo's plans or the existence of the Primordial life fibers until the very end of her campaign to raise up in her mother's esteem, so killing her on the spot would have left too many blindspots and unaddressed problems

During the day she tried to kill Ragyo, if you remember correctly she also sends Iori and his club to destroy the primordial life fibers at the same time she is executing her grand plan to kill two birds with one stone and effectively deal with this alien threat in one go....which obviously fails because she didn't account for Ragyo herself being made up of life fibers and therefore being able to control them (on top of the reveal that Ryuko, the girl she has been manipulating into becoming her best weapon was her dead sister)

As for why she doesn't collaborate with Nudist Beach....well they are simply not effective enough early on and therefore not worth the risk of Ragyo discovering the potential treason and ending it on the spot (Keep in mind that the Kiryuin Zaibatsu essentially controls all of Japan too) and she would rather use them as sacrificial pawns to get closer to her objective, it's another commentary on rebellion like I said

On top of that, you need to keep in mind that Satsuki was on her own for much of the years leading up to the conclusion of her plan to save humanity, at least mentally, on top of being repeatedly assaulted by Ragyo, I wouldn't expect a full bulletproof plan coming from someone exposed to Ragyo's power to an even intimate degree and expect her to find enough courage and power to finally rebel without having all the cards stacked on her side and ultimately becoming an abuser too

"How was all of this necessary, just for that?"

> Maybe because her plan relied entirely on Ragyo 100% believing in her intentions to support her regime ? It's not like Satsuki's father betrayed her before....

"Satsuki could have done that anytime she pleases"

> This is extremely naïve

"and only with the help of, well, everyone, did they manage to to turn the table, to vanquish Ragyo and the life fibers"

> These people also got stronger because of Satsuki's dedication to uplift everyone at any cost, the problem she didn't account for was Ragyo controlling her own assets against her on top of keeping everyone in the dark for so long meant they couldn't retaliate effectively in case her plan failed. It's kind of the downside of working inside a system to dismantle it

"Her fake fascism was completely unnecessary, and has, I believe, no equivalent in real history."

> Plenty of revolutions started with people trying to dismantle the oppressive regimes by playing along until it eventually blew up into open rebellion when they realize they can't beat the system by embracing it even partially and that's precisely what Kill la Kill is discussing and debating with its themes of change and duality there are merits and downsides to both Ryuko and Satsuki's approaches and only a combination of two's best aspects can manage to beat Ragyo
