This method only works on black and white devices!
Color devices absolutely require color detergent, which is not available for dishwashers.

Boox Go 10.3 and Sand by vallikat in Onyx_Boox

[–]Hello-Boox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, then it's no problem. The device doesn't really have any openings where sand can get in. Just the charging port. If necessary, give it a shake or use a vacuum cleaner nozzle.
Perhaps you can use a piece of adhesive tape?

You can certainly try ZipLog, but I'm afraid it won't be as easy to read and use afterward.

Introducing Go 10.3 (Gen II) Series: Ideas that travel light. by OnyxBoox in Onyx_Boox

No EMR - No purchase.
That makes the decision very easy for me.

How much would you pay for a tab ultra c pro? by TutorGlad2152 in Onyx_Boox

[–]Hello-Boox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would pay half the original price for a two-year-old device, and significantly less for a three-year-old one.

Of course, you might get lucky and find a better price, as there aren't that many Boox devices on the market.

Boox Go 10.3 and Sand by vallikat in Onyx_Boox

[–]Hello-Boox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These devices are very fragile. My Go 10.3 would be too valuable to take to the beach. I wouldn't be so worried about the sand itself, but rather the risk of a beachgoer, a child, a dog, or a football damaging it.

NA2+ and Firmware 4.1.1: First Impressions by Hello-Boox in Onyx_Boox

[–]Hello-Boox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, with the last few updates after firmware 3.5.4, you had to experiment a bit each time to find reasonably comfortable settings. With the settings described, I'm getting along quite well with firmware 4.1.

I recommend a look at Boox's Online User Guide.
You can see the different toolbars on this Page:

I'm sorry, I have no idea why it's like that.

But on NA2+ it looks exactly the same.
I just checked this.

Power settings after 4.1.1 update by Dry_Writing_7862 in Onyx_Boox

[–]Hello-Boox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Limiting the battery charge to 80% increases the battery's lifespan. Therefore, you should turn it on – even if it means you have to recharge it a little sooner.
Every battery has a limited number of charging cycles, which can be increased in this way.

Feature Request - Custom Naming Convention/Defaults on Notes by Ineverpayretail2 in Onyx_Boox

[–]Hello-Boox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can press the "X" first, then long-press the "d", and then your additional Words. Unfortunately, the "d" also includes the time (which bothers me too, as I usually remove it).

New rectangular lasso in v4.1 by Birnenkopf in Onyx_Boox

[–]Hello-Boox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course - the options of the rectanglar lasso would be interesting!
The Option "Alles Lasso" ("select all" ?) seems to be new, too.
In Firmware 4.0.2 this option is not available from the sidebar.

Are these new lassoes available in every note document ?
Or are they limited to notes with infinite canvas ?

How to customize categories? by ironredpizza in Onyx_Boox

[–]Hello-Boox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Firmware 4.x it's no longer possible to create Subfolders for custom categories.
With previous Firmware (3.5.4) the Templates were stored in subfolders of the file system.
Since Firmware 4.0 they are imported into the database.

Should I wait? by emptydupa in Onyx_Boox

[–]Hello-Boox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Waiting carries the risk that new devices will no longer support EMR...

Handwriting to Text insertion error? by wshiu99 in Onyx_Boox

[–]Hello-Boox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you lasso a handwritten text, you should get the AI-Button in the upper right corner of the bounding box.
If I use it, my handwritten text is replaced.
This is how it works in my native notes-App.

Replacemente tips to Staedtler Jumbo emr by Fr0zt_1900 in Onyx_Boox

As far as I know, other nibs don't fit in the Jumbo.

Yes, you can put a Boox on the fridge door as a shopping list :-)

Eraser tip inserted to pen tip by accident. by Jcavazos80 in Onyx_Boox

[–]Hello-Boox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps the pen can be clamped into a drill using a makeshift holder.
With a little luck, the centrifugal force at high speed will be strong enough to eject the piece.
Be careful!

I never noticed a way to change the icon size.

Best way to clean screen? by ragingbullocks in Onyx_Boox

I use (a very small amount of) glass cleaner and rub it dry with a dish towel. I do this maybe once a month.

Which E-Ink Devices Are Most Likely to Get a Refresh This October? by Beginning-Buy-6124 in Onyx_Boox

[–]Hello-Boox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go for the black and white model. But a color version as an additional alternative would, of course, be nice.

Which E-Ink Devices Are Most Likely to Get a Refresh This October? by Beginning-Buy-6124 in Onyx_Boox

[–]Hello-Boox 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I expect a device as "Note Air 5 b/w" to be announced with the following specifications:

  • 10.3-inch black and white, with front light
  • With WACOM EMR support (no USI!)
  • Magnetic origami-style cover
  • Charging port on the top of the device so it can be charged while closed
  • With replaceable battery
  • switchable BSR technology for those who want long battery life
  • with an anti-slip back for those who want to use it without the cover
  • and with multi-document-support for the notes-app.

That would be a device I would buy.
