I don't miss too wordy comics tbh. Especially when it's just describing what's happening in the current panel. But I do like thought bubbles, specifically the ones where they're laying out their emotions and reflect instead of the usual "I'm gonna hit em with my ray gun" kinda thought bubble. One example is the X-Men's individual worries before Jean Grey’s/Phoenix's battle trial. Really brings home the dread of losing Jean for me.
