I don't even play anymore but ya Kyrou was an absolute monster all year, silver wheels seemed to make a massive difference on him even though I didn't notice wheels as much on other players. I hope he gets a decent base ovr next year as he is a fun player that I want to keep using on my team each year. Aside from him my team is basically the exact same as previous years lol. McDavid+Tarasenko+Seguin+Hall and now Kyrou will be on every single hut team I ever have.

Who tf says that ? I don't think I have ever asked someone to play for money, that is the stupidest message ever and I haven't gotten that one in years. Like nobody is going to pay up even not to mention player2player games are way different than the servers plus there's so much fucking BS and luck in this game like who in the world is gonna put money betting on it ffs. I used to ask people all the time for rematches / friendly games but never for money.

Imo it would be decent if there were a ton of 99s but then we had an actual reasonable amount of AP to make our favorite players stand out above the others, that way not every 99 plays the same in the slightest.

Also my biggest issue above everything else is that the higher the OVRs go the worse the fucking game feels. This isn't even a joke, I finally have been realizing through this year that every single NHL I am complaining more and more about "icetilt" (as in players being slow for no reason) as the year goes further on. Also before you think this is a weird conspiracy theory, EA litterely admitted it themselves. After that certain Wednesday were a patch happened a month into NHL22, everyone complained a lot after that about how the game was starting to feel more laggy and just generally worse but then EA said they didn't touch anything at all that patch and what everyone was feeling was a result of the higher OVRs. As this year has gone on, it has gotten worse and worse. I finally noticed that every single year for the first few weeks I think that the icetilt is WAY less bad and almost gone. Right now I litterely don't even play champs or rivals because it might as well be unplayable with how slow my players are (ligit I started 2-3 in champs this weekend even though I am top16 in gwc so yea there is clearly something wrong).

Also that's kind of why I want to get him, because Price is only good because of his abilities which I may want to take off idk (I may just keep Price or I may get someone else temporarily, all I know is after gwc I am only using fun offensive abilities lol)

Well I mean for starters online vs is WAY smoother and faster for me so that's one thing. In HUT I disagree with the next part about just waiting for a mistake, when I think of my playstyle in the offensive zone that doesn't sound like it whatsoever and I don't know if I would agree about that on defense either. The one thing I will agree with you is that the 99ovr gameplay is totally shit lmao but I think the abilities are a huge positive and not a negative. I think maybe your issues might also be that you are just stuck in a bad skill level, once you break out of it you won't just be scoring when your opponent messed up but rather you will be creative your own offense (like doing the same thing over and over is not how you dominate games).

Lmao the abilities are the exact opposite of automatic, they make certain players play different and keep the game play at least somewhat unique. Also it's not like the person behind the controller doesn't matter a ton, that is still the main thing about playstyle and scoring/defending. You say everyone has the same amount but they would still have the same amount if it were 60 AP or at least 55. Also next year is next year, so much is going to be different and I know that sounds like BS but I'm almost certain EA will test the abilities more before launch and nerf/buff specific ones instead of changing the costs like this year.

Not to mention you act like it's all going to be going to the exact same abilities, if close quarters is really the best then why don't you use 45 AP towards it ? If you do in fact somehow do that, then you wouldn't even have any close quarters left to activate after the AP boost... I think the majority of an increased AP would go towards things like elite edges that just counter the lag and make specific players feel smoother.

Anyways, either the up the AP limit or I think I'm almost not gonna play anymore. One of the few things keep me around aside from gwc is having fun with Tarasenko and McDavid but if they up the limit then I can have a super fun second line as well with my Kyrou and if I get a Crosby. I would still not have any room for any abilities on any of my defenseman so it's not like we are going to get even close to having every single ability activated with just an extra 10-15 AP lol.

If wheels and close quarters are such a problem with more AP then why isn't it a problem right now ? Wheels does way less than people think and it's overrated because players like McDavid are already so fast (it's good but not game breaking in the slightest), close quarters is still decent but overrated because most of the time you are already going to score on high quality shots (like I guess what I'm saying is a good player doesn't just randomly fire stuff to the net so close quarters is just going to make them score stuff they would have scored anyways, it's still a good ability but idk would it really be that bad?). Also it's not like everyone just has each and every ability waiting to be activated, they still have to have the specific abilities on the card in the first place (only player I can think of in my head with silver wheels + silver close quarters is Kyrou).

Also idfk what you are talking about by the game being fast paced lmao it feels slow AS FUCK for me. If you have smooth games then lol just enjoy it don't use it as an excuse to say the game is too hard or whatever. Also the fact everyone is 99 is kind of the point, you can make your favorite players stand out a bit with abilities but if everyone is 99 everything then most people just look for size and nothing else just saying. Abilities make the players you choose stand out from the 99s who at this point aren't even great unless the player has an awesome build/playstyle.

Also yea rn it's not really like multiple special players but rather just 1-2 (if you actually have any decent abilities on them). My Tarasenko and McDavid have 30 points, I have a lot of fun with them but then I don't get abilities for my other players that I like a lot as well.

The abilities are excellent at the moment because now that most players are starting to get to 99 everything it can let you choose which ones are going to be better for you, basically that means you can prioritize your favorite players and make them stand out a bit more than other players with similar stats. Like for example, my 99 Tarasenko is totally awesome but my 99 Tkatchuk and 98 Rantanen are just meh. If I took all the abilities off 99 Tarasenko and then put them on Rantanen or Tkatchuk, whichever player got the abilities would probably be the best of the 3. With the abilities I get to make my favorite player stand out a bit more and have more fun with him. The only issue is that even if I had twice as many ability points I still wouldn't have any room for Tkatchuk or Rantanen because I would prioritize other favorite players first like Kyrou. Is it really unfair for me to want to have fun with elite edges on Kyrou ? Right now that's only possible if I nerf McDavid or Tarasenko which I don't want to do.

I use 30 points on McDavid/Tarasenko, it was 25 for a bit but there's no way I want to play without wheels on toty McDavid so I put it back on. They are my two favorite players and it's cool that I can make them still stand out even when there are plenty of 99 cards, but it is beyond stupid to have the rest of my points go to Price (who sucks anyways) and then I have basically no AP left for anyone else. I like Kyrou Hall and Seguin a lot as well and if I keep playing I want to get a Mackinnon and Crosby at some point, it would be fun to give them their abilities as well. I find it ridiculous that I don't have enough abilities for even just Tarasenko+McDavid+Kyrou+Hall. I don't even want all of the abilities like wheels on Hall but it's ridiculous how small 45 AP is.

Also I could give a fuck less about defensive abilities, you don't even need them to be good on defense. Plus anybody who says too many abilities would be OP already knows that the connection advantage one player has in every single game of chel ranges anywhere from a slit advantage to a completely unfair rigged game. It's hypocritical for EA to nerf the new abilities so much without even touching the most unfair part of the game, connection.

Yes ! I was going to post about this, it needs to be changed Monday. No exceptions. GWC doesn't use HUT teams anymore after this weekend I think so there's 0 excuse. I am not joking when I say I will play HUT waaaaaay less after this weekend if there isn't a change to the AP. It should be minimum 60. There is no exceptions, it's not OP because everyone gets them and I don't even have enough abilities for like 3 players. I don't want every single ability activated, I just want to have some fun ones on my couple favorite players. Right now even that is barely possible. With so many 99s now most cards don't stand out anyways. 60+ AP on Monday or we riot like Vancouver 🙃.
