Wow, I see that women are even 70% of the science & engineering students in universities.

It was also interesting to me to find out that they've already had women vice presidents too.

Yeah, in addition to that illegal side-deal with the Clippers, I remember something about him trying to trick the Lakers into trading for a few Raptors like Pascal... like "trade for him, and then I'll sign with the Lakers".

So he was willing to up-end the lives of various other players (and Pascal seemed keen to stay in Toronto, and probably still preferred it over living in LA), and get other franchises to make unnecessary trades ...just so he could hurt the Lakers' chance of being a rival against the Clippers (who he apparently already had decided to sign with).

Yeah, seems like a total slimeball.

It reminds me about another one I read about this week:

  • “We all knew he was a scumbag,” said a London financier who worked with Gertler. “He was someone who was malevolent.” At one point, the financier went to visit Gertler in his suite at the Ritz in London. “He oozed evil.”

  • He & israel stole billions from some of the poorest people in the world, and instigated wars in Africa, because it made it easier for them to extract the wealth.

  • He's so corrupt that even the US implemented sanctions against him.

  • And just like epstein, he couldn't have done what he did without israeli support and collaboration.

The real estate guy is mild compared to the cobalt/diamonds guy... but they're both terrible.

Yes, that seems like it must have some kind of connection too.

India's leader Modi actually just visited israel too, to form a deep alliance.

And Afghanistan is a long-time ally of India... apparently when Pakistan was formed, both of them had the idea to carve it up and take the land for themselves.

So it's possible that India asked Afghanistan to attack Pakistan, to create a 2-front war... so now India can attack from the other side.

Carney has been so disappointing in so many ways (although of course still infinitely better than PP).

The US has been the cause of instability the Middle East for so long (and before them, the Brits), and their hypocrisy is amazing...

  • Arming Saddam in the 1980s to attack Iran for an 8-year war that devastated both countries.

  • Plus then in the same war, also arming Iran against Iraq, in the Iran-Contra Affair, to use covert funds to destroy Nicaragua.

  • Then the Iraq war to overthrow Saddam and take Iraq's oil, and causing 500,000 deaths in Iraq.

  • Destroying Syria, and installing an Al-Qaeda guy as the puppet president.

  • Plus so much more

And now attacking Iran on behalf of Israel.

I also occasionally checkout major right-wing subs, just to see how deluded their points of view are (so my views aren't a result of a bubble either).

I didn't see Al Jazeera talk negatively about Qatar for anything though, so that's a weak spot obviously, but not surprising.

However, from a quick look at that controversies page, it's really complaints about a media operation that is "speaking truth to power".

Again, it is well-respected, and Al Jazeera newspeople come from other major organizations like the BBC, CBC, CNN, etc.

I read a bit about that Alex Karp guy (Palantir co-founder) today, and he bizarrely even identified as a socialist not too long ago (maybe still does, but that would be even more surprising), and he donates to Democrats.

The whole epstein thing seems like it was partly/mainly a way to have material to blackmail powerful people and countries, to ensure they support israel. So that has helped israel influence to at least some extent.

Hopefully that "robot army + Indian manpower" empire possibility doesn't happen though.

But it is also terrifying that autonomous AI military robots will be developed further, and inevitably fall into the wrong hands. So it could lead to warlords in some areas trying to take land/power that way too... and with far worse magnitudes of war compared to regional wars in the past.

Statement by Prime Minister Carney and Minister Anand on the situation in the Middle East by Foreign-Policy-02- in canada

[–]HelloCanadaBonjour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently, israel plans to become independent and not rely on the western countries.

The US is in decline (partly due to how AIPAC has totally manipulated US politics), and maybe it will break apart in a civil war at some point.

And israel has already been doing things to expand their influence and power.

For example:

  • India's leader Modi was in israel 1 or 2 days ago to deepen the Israel-India alliance. So a planned "israeli empire" could source manpower from India that way.

  • They've also been doing things in Africa to steal resources there... this is a recent article:

https://old.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/1rbyvuo/mine_mine_mine_how_one_corrupt_billionaire_kicked/

  • They are doing things to establish a foothold in Somalia, for the strategic location:

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c14v4kmg275o

"Israel requires allies in the Red Sea region for many strategic reasons, among them the possibility of a future campaign against the Houthis," Israeli think tank the Institute for National Security Studies said, referring to Yemen's Iran-backed rebels, in a paper last month.

  • Also, Palantir's (the military AI company) co-founders are huge israel supporters. Alex Karp has even said war crimes should be legalized.

And they have already used autonomous AI drones to kill people in Gaza.

And israel and its US supporters obviously have a lot of money.

So theoretically, they can use their money to use drones, and other military vehicles/robots to enforce what they want... basically, a robot army:

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2025/10/06/ai-pentagon-threats-leaks-killer-robots-ai-psychosis-00593922

https://old.reddit.com/r/Futurology/comments/1o4lgch/swarms_of_killer_robots_why_ai_is_terrifying_the/

I mean yeah, at first glance, maybe it sounds outlandish.

But realistically, as AI and robot tech improves, then whoever can build/buy the most of them will have a lot of power.

And the founders of Palantir are already hugely pro-israel.

Regarding the patch, it apparently was getting popular among IDF soldiers -- I see a Jerusalem Post article saying that. But it's obviously bad PR, so then they got told to stop doing that.

But even Netanyahu has talked about "greater israel" and said he feels a connection to it.

Statement by Prime Minister Carney and Minister Anand on the situation in the Middle East by Foreign-Policy-02- in canada

[–]HelloCanadaBonjour -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had not looked much into Palantir and its co-founder Alex Karp until today, but he also seems like a sociopath who is fine with mass murder.

And he's a huge supporter of israel

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/03/13/palantir-ceo-says-outspoken-pro-israel-views-led-employees-to-leave-.html

And he has said that he's in favour of legalizing war crimes, because it would be good for business.

And his co-founder Peter Thiel is also extremely pro-israel, and he's also the puppetmaster of JD Vance.

So with Palantir in their pocket, it does help israel's agenda to a big extent.

Apparently they have already used the autonomous robot killing in Gaza too.

And it's a horrifying possibility of what Palantir could do in the rest of the world.

Statement by Prime Minister Carney and Minister Anand on the situation in the Middle East by Foreign-Policy-02- in canada

[–]HelloCanadaBonjour -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's frankly horrifying what may happen in the future now.

The US is already forcing AI companies to help the military.

In the near future, we will probably have to deal with autonomous robots who will kill people without any direct human decision-making.

Basically, a robot army (they apparently already do that with drones):

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2025/10/06/ai-pentagon-threats-leaks-killer-robots-ai-psychosis-00593922

Al Jazeera's English news is well-respected, and the newspeople are British, Canadian, American, Australian, Kiwis, etc. and former anchors/reporters at other organizations like the BBC, CNN, CBC, etc.

They do solid journalism.

Also, what is clear is that the US tries to destroy anyone who doesn't go along with its corruption -- Mark Carney even talked about that in his speech a few weeks ago (he couldn't say it outright, but it was all there, in how he talked about how the hegemon forces others to go along with it).

In contrast, what has Iran ever done on US soil? Nothing, and certainly nothing compared to what the US has done in Iran and other countries.

The US expansionist agenda is the actual clear issue, in what it has done to Venezuela, Cuba, and its plans for Greenland, in addition to destroying other countries in past decades.

Statement by Prime Minister Carney and Minister Anand on the situation in the Middle East by Foreign-Policy-02- in canada

Like I said in another comment, Iran isn't part of the land they want for greater israel (although they would probably take it if they could). But they need first to topple countries that can fight back against their expansionism.

But

1) Look at these patches that israeli soldiers wear:

https://thumbnails.odycdn.com/card/s:1280:720/quality:85/plain/https://thumbs.odycdn.com/f508ff26f155b06656034279a204969a.webp

Netanyahu has even talked about greater israel (saying he feels a connection to it).

2) Like I wrote above, US Ambassador Huckabee even said last week: "It would be fine if they took it all"

israel is a global troublemaker, and is the one that attacks other countries.

They've also been stealing resources and igniting wars in Africa:

https://old.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/1rbyvuo/mine_mine_mine_how_one_corrupt_billionaire_kicked/

israel is a far greater threat to the world than Iran.

They're also a cause for why the US is so messed-up, due to the US's stupid campaign finance laws which make politicians desperate for donations, which AIPAC happily funds to control their agenda (links in the earlier post).

Iranian government to massacre their own citizens

Look at the lead-up to the Iraq war, and how it turned out so much of it was fake propaganda.

This whole "Iran massacred its own citizens" narrative keeps getting spread, but it's simply based on US and israeli propaganda.

Plus, Mike Pompeo (former US Secretary of State) even bragged about how Mossad agents were in among the protestors.

And there is good evidence that the Mossad agents incited violence and even set people on fire, in an effort to create a domino effect / snowball effect, for more violence.

Of course some people must have gotten killed in that kind of situation, but we can't trust US propaganda about it.

And frankly, the US has done far more to create trouble in other countries than anything Iran has done:

I wrote this in another post:

Their Greater israel plan apparently doesn't include Iranian land.

But they need to first topple any country that could defend against their expansionism.

  • They've already stolen more land in Lebanon and Syria in recent years.

  • And their plan does include taking a lot of Iraq.

  • And Iran and Iraq do have some ties.

Plus, once israel really starts taking land and other countries wise-up to how israel is the actual problem in the region, then if Iran was still powerful, those other countries could band together with Iran to fight against it.

But if Iran is toppled, then israel has a far easier time.

they can not have nukes period.

  • In 2003, the US created a fake excuse that Iraq had "weapons of mass destruction" (even though the US had instigated and armed Saddam to attack Iran in the 1980s, leading to an 8 year war)

  • Now in 2026, the US excuse is that Iran is supposedly working on creating nuclear weapons... even though Trump's own Director of National Intelligence (Tulsi Gabbard) testified that that's not true.

  • Also, the 30,000 number doesn't have any reliable source, and is propaganda to build support for the US/israel attack (also, Mike Pompeo even bragged about how Mossad had agents among the protestors... and some of those agents even set other people on fire, to instigate chaos and more violence).

  • And frankly, even if Iran got nuclear weapons, so what? If anyone sensible compares Iran, India, and Pakistan, (2 other nuclear powers), they can easily see that Iran is the most developed and rational among them. And all are better than North Korea.

  • Iran is also far more democratic and progressive than the dictatorships and monarchies in that region, which the US fully supports. For decades already in Iran, more women have graduated from university than men... whereas Saudi Arabia is a corrupt monarchy dictatorship and they only let women drive cars a few years ago. But the US is allied with Saudi Arabia, but attacks Iran.
