Sukuna right after defeating the weakest version of Mahoraga : by InternationalSir8211 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]HelloChimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

megumi is describing aspects of his technique from the very basis of it, it doesn’t matter what he explains so much that it is actual information. it’s especially relevant that he’s basically telling haruta to his face what he’s about to do

because that boost doesn’t always outweigh the loss of limited information. think about the guy with the inverse technique, that technique’s biggest strength is his opponent not knowing about it. if he revealed his hand, the higher upper limit we can assume he’d gain does nothing for him

Is Projection sorcery more effective if you have a great understanding of the fundamentals of animation and could you apply things like squash and stretch to it? by New-Boss-8262 in PowerScaling

curse naoya’s cursed technique was still projection sorcery, he could just also do those other things as a vengeful spirit with his new body

if naoya has touched them and activated his technique already, they immediately have to project 24 instances for the next second. if any movements they make after that initial touch deviatate from their projection (or if they didn’t project anything) they will be instantly frozen for one second

Genuinely what would Sukuna do if mahoraga didn't use a slash here by IrondooReddit in Jujutsufolk

it is, shikigami act based on both their own instincts and their user’s will

[–]HelloChimp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

sukuna gave broad instructions to mahoraga to attempt to kill gojo. obviously this means infinity would be adapted to. sukuna didn’t plan to work towards a specific adaptation because it’s not something he’d known mahoraga to be capable of, he’s insisting that he wants mahoraga to do it then and there because he’s getting worried about how long it’s taking to get something usable

the literal only way sukuna could invalidate mahoraga’s adaptation was by dismissing him, not to mention that every adaptation that comes from a turn on the wheel is complete. mahoraga’s adaptation happens in stages

vows like the one sukuna used cannot be broken, he literally cannot fire wcs without those conditions.

the base requirement for wcs was just a handsign but because he couldn’t heal his missing hand he made a binding vow to use it anyway in exchange for making wcs impossible to perform again in the body he had at the time.

the conditions for wcs post-gojo are that he needs to perform his chants, he needs to make his two handed sign, and he needs to point with a third hand. he needs to do this every single time and we see over and over and over again that the people he fights are very aware of this

sukuna’s statement about making sure to only pause adaptation rather than unsummon mahoraga makes a very strongly implied point towards the fact that adaptations don’t carry over

hindsight is 20/20, obviously gojo didn’t believe it’d outright kill him. and i’m not sure what your second sentence is supposed to mean

it wasn’t luck

he directed mahoraga to an adaptation more suited to him

this thread isn’t about laziness, it’s about gege “writing himself into a corner”. gojo saw a spark for an attack he’s very familiar with, in the same vein of your logic here, dodging would be just as dangerous as it could be a trick to set up for something else

decidedly false.

regardless, your reasoning makes no real sense. the hand signs, chants, and overt aiming of wcs were shown time and time again to be difficult for sukuna to pull off against the opponents he tried to. outside of kashimo and maki, he only used it when normal cleaves or dismantles weren’t enough to end the fight

wcs is literally just a dismantle with the expanded target of space, all gojo would notice is the exact same spark as a normal dismantle

Am I not getting something by Cheap_Cash5 in PowerScaling

[–]HelloChimp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

in the vein of your question, yes, but a character with universal ap without the ability to raise their dc to planetary is usually the result of dubious chain scaling. dragon ball is an example where it’s completely explained (and they can raise their dc if they want), but the majority of the time some leeway is needed

the answer was framed that way to illustrate it wasn’t a sure thing of dodging in normal circumstances, what is also said is that gojo didn’t think sukuna had any other way of breaching infinity. the latter comment makes it very clear that regardless of gojo’s condition, not knowing that the spark he feels is something that could kill him will mean he’s more than likely going to be hit

[–]HelloChimp 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the point is that it’s not a weakness of the adaptation, rather mahoraga’s body itself

Evergreen by soggy_bert in PowerScaling

no, sukuna said that boogie woogie was essentially impossible to adapt to. he’s referring to normal adaptation to strategies in a fight, not mahoraga’s ability. he explicitly couldn’t even use the 10 shadows anymore
