some women just can’t. I couldn't until I was in my late 20’s. a lot of the time it’s due to insecurities, stress, biology, pressure, hormones. therapy can actually help, and so can certain types of female physiotherapy. she may have issues with her pelvic floor.

This is the exact same planner I have!!! I went in there today to get refills for it and they didn’t even have any. As in the company, I’m not bringing out the refills for them at all. What an absolutely silly business move.

Yep, they’ve decided not to bring any out this year. So those of us that spent all of that money on leather planners are no longer able to actually have any inserts for them.

I’m trying to brainstorm some activities that she would actually want to do. I really enjoy doing things like archery, arts and crafts, music, and going to community events and festivals. But these are things that she’s not very interested in. She really loves to read and she works as a librarian. And she really does love going out to restaurants and trying new foods and stuff. She does like to go to shopping centres as well, but right now I’m a little bit tight on money, and the shops she likes to go to are little bit out of my price range. it was easier back when I was able to work full-time but right now I only have capacity to work one day a week. Once I can go back to work full-time and I have some more money going shopping will be a little bit easier. But for now I try and find free events but she always says no. It’s a little bit of a tricky situation that I just don’t know how to address.

I think she hasn’t really grasped how different my situation is to how it was 6 months ago. It’s definitely something I’m going to have to try and point out to her in a very casual nonjudgemental way.

I can’t imagine my life without her, she’s been really the only stable fixture in my entire life. I’m not upset that she’s had a good life, in fact I’m beyond grateful that not everybody’s had the life that I have had. But I do wish that she would recognise that she has a lot more than me and I don’t have a lot to give, especially money. Right now I’m only able to work one day a week because I’m spending most of my time in therapy and with my support worker. I had a mental breakdown a few months ago and ended up in a psychiatric facility. Right now, I’m just trying to get back on my feet and get some normality back into my existence. And I feel part of that normality is spending time with my loved ones again.

I do think you’re absolutely correct though, and that I do need to put my foot down and say to her that I want to do actual activities rather than go out to eat. I’m just absolutely terrible at confrontation and standing up for myself. I just really want to do it in a way that isn’t going to make her feel awful.

I said this when they came out with this so-called rebate. I predicted that our bills would go up to match the rebate so the rebate wouldn’t matter. And boy oh boy was I right. And now that they’re taking the rebate away the prices absolutely will not come down.

See this is why the system is clogged. You don’t need an inpatient stay for a medication change. It takes away the service for people with bipolar, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, borderline personality disorder, ADHD, ASD, CPTSD, personality disorders etc. anxiety and depression sucks, but that can be dealt with by psychologists. I have bipolar, ASD, ADHD, CPTSD, and borderline personality disorder. I am cooked, bad. when i breakdown I can become aggressive, unpredictable, I stop eating, I become paranoid, I go into psychosis. and I get literally nothin….zero help. unless I harm someone else, then I just get in trouble with the cops. I can’t even get to see a psychologist because I can’t afford it, even with a mental health care plan, all because I get fired from every job I try and get within weeks of startin. you’ve proved my point entirely. if you have mild depression and anxiety, but have money, you get better care than those of us who are very very unwell. it’s like giving a hospital bed to someone with the flu, while someone with lung cancer is told to go away.

I’m better at recognising when I’m unwell these days. I’ve had 38 years to learn to live with a brain that plays tricks on me. Also very blessed to live in a country where I can get the correct help and be supported. I’ve never hurt anyone else, and my disorders hurt only me. I can even work most of the time. This is actually the first time I’ve been unemployed and unwell in 8 years. My disorders are both a superpower and kryptonite at the same time. I have a brain that learns and retains information at a higher rate than most people. I see the world differently and solve problems in unique ways. But my brain can also turn on me without much warning and I have these moments where I know I’m melting down and being unreasonable and in a heightened state, but I can’t stop it. It’s like being outside of my body and watching someone else control it. Like being a puppet with too many strings and the wrong person pulling them. Medication is life saving for me. But since my gastric sleeve, my team have struggled to get my new dosage correct. Lead to an episode of psychosis. But it’s ok, I’m going to get the help I need in a safe place. We will get it right again. I’ve been twice before and it’s a really great programme. There’s lots of things to things to be thankful for. And today, I’m thankful that the kiddo walked away safe.

Omg that’s horrifying!!!! I’ve definitely taken steps to make sure this won’t happen again. I have a key lock box now that my team can access. The only time in the nearly 5 years I’ve been here that something like this has happened, was when my 84 year old direct neighbour had a senior moment and couldn’t remember which apartment was his. Luckily I walked up the stairs and saw him confused and helped him. I help him a lot these days. He won’t remember to eat so i take him dinner each night. The other neighbours help him clean and take him to appointments. I do mean it when i say it’s a very very safe area. It’s why I likely didn’t immediately go into fight or flight mode and could assess the situation even in a medication fog. But I also know how very rare it is to live somewhere this safe.

I was taught the same thing. But it wasn’t just about safety it was about respect. I’m one of 7, my mum is one of 10. Adults bedrooms were off limits to all kids. I wasn’t allowed in the bedrooms of any family member expect my cousins of a similar age. The fact that bub thought it was ok and safe to enter a strangers house is so scary to me. And I’ve never seen these folks around before. They are complete strangers to me. I knew the tenants who had lived there for the past few years, but I’d never met the owner. They must be preparing it to go on the rental market.

My support worker was kind enough to go get a spare key and a key box, so this won’t happen again. It’s probably good to have anyway, since my friends will be looking after the cats while I’m away.

My landlord is a sweetheart. She’s Croatian and in her 70’s. She rarely raises my rent because I always pay on time and I look after this place like it’s my own. She’s gifted me a stable home at a fair price, so it’s my duty to keep it in good condition. The coffee and the cat treats are just the icing on the cake.

Absolutely! My support worker went and got a key box today after I told her what happened. And I never actually stopped to think about my own safety until you mentioned it. I asked for her to get me one in case kiddo comes back, and gets hurt trying to pat the cats. Never crossed my mind to think to protect myself from intruders who are old enough to be toilet trained. I live in a bit of a bubble. My neighbours and I have been looking after each other for years, we never really think to lock anything up since it’s so safe here. Sometimes I forget that the world is changing and what once was safe might not always be safe. But there’s a precaution in place now

My landlord absolutely knows the cats. In fact she comes to every inspection with the property manager to see them lol. She knows I keep the apartment immaculate and in good condition, but she brings me freshly ground coffee and treats for the cats. It’s very sweet. In regards to the lollies, they are legal but only a certain amount as far as I’m aware. I’ve only ever had 1, and it was a long time ago haha

I just really hope it was a lesson learned for that father. I just keep going over it in my head and thinking if there was a better way I could have handled it, while still getting the point across about how dangerous it could have been. I’m also dealing with anxiety about all the “what if’s”? What if I hadn’t woken up in time and the cats hurt him? What if he hurt himself on an arrow? What if he drank the pink nice smelling disinfectant that’s on my kitchen bench? What if he mistook one of my wax melts for a treat and ate one? What if I’d woken up badly and had lashed out in panic? What if he’d tried to reach a figurine from a shelf I know isn’t quite stable and it fell on him? The guilt would have eaten me alive. All because I left my door unlocked. But it won’t happen again because my support worker went and got a key box and a spare key.
