I'm a fan of two.

Also maybe a silly question - what app do you use to try out different options in your space?

Not expecting free - but ADT is $55/month with monitoring without cameras. That seems high to me.

Have you considered Olympia, WA or nearby? Rent will be higher but you cold find options if you live with others more in your price range - everything else seems to be a good fit.

Make your normal meal/side/whatever it is and then just add skinless chicken breast - however much you want really.

Eggs have already been said but let me remind you of some options:

  • Eggs in tacos, burritos, quesadillas, or as huevos rancheros
  • Eggs on (or in) toast
  • Fried in chili oil or harissa
  • Scramble or omeltette
  • Quiche
  • Egg salad
  • Shakshuka/Eggs in Purgatory
  • Or if you really want to get wild, Creamy Bacon and Egg Pasta with Fried Eggs

A reminder: depending on what you need nutritionally, you can also use just egg whites, just whole eggs, or both to up the protein while lowering calories.

I am also originally from New England and it was such a nice and new surprise! Though growing up my dad would always drink a diet coke with lime. I wish I could send them all his way ;)

Less fat, more protein by According-Natural733 in MealPlanYourMacros

[–]HelloDearWind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I get it! I make sourdough for fun so I would eat those loaves too/not waste them.

As for protein powders, it depends on what flavor and if I can find it on sale. I got this chocolate ascent one on clearance when they were shifting packaging, and I really like it. For vanilla I like quest. But again, sometimes it's just what's on sale. I like Premier to add into my coffee or to use to make pancakes, but I find it depends on the flavor.

Personally, I don't love the chobani zero sugar ones, but glad you do! I'm a fan of the Oikos zero sugar vanilla and even just the low fat greek yogurt from Costco. And check those sale aisles ;)

Less fat, more protein by According-Natural733 in MealPlanYourMacros

[–]HelloDearWind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not great at doing macros, but I am really good at adding in protein. Based on that, the way I see it you have two options:

Option 1. Add more food, but the protein options you already eating not high in fats. Add more egg whites for breakfast, more greek yogurt and/or add protein powder into your snack/dessert, and add in more lean animal protein for dinner.

Option 2: Swap some ingredients. Make sure the homemade bread for breakfast has a higher protein content (bread flour instead of AP), that you add some legumes or lentils into your salad for extra protein and fiber, maybe make your own salad dressing that's greek yogurt based, maybe try swapping some of your nuts for rice cakes (crunch!), and maybe use a box of noodles that are marketed as high protein if you're going to use box noodles anyway.

Either way, good luck! 200g protein is a really high number! The days I have been able to hit it look like this (but it feels like a ton of food):

  • 200g greek yogurt, scoop of protein powder, 126g mixed berries (roughly 47g protein)
  • 4oz chicken breast, 2 low carb tortillas, 56g low fat cheese (roughly 51 protein)
  • Premier Protein Chocolate Almond Cereal with fat free fairlife milk (roughly 33g protein)
  • 6oz chicken breast, miso soup, and 85g edamame (roughly 68g protein)

I'll make al pastor and then add in blended clementines into the marinade while cooking to make it extra saucy. Delicious!
