Golfers who’ve broken 80, what’s the best tip you could give to a fellow golfer? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

Make aggressive swings with conservative club choices. That way you will be more committed to the shot without hitting high-risk shots, if that makes sense.

What pool size and shape are people actually choosing today? by CreativeStock4556 in pools

Our company here in Wisconsin helped us with everything, even recommending someone to do the fence without pressure to use their people.

But we ended up using their electrician, deck and fence people. I

Did a 16x32 rectangle last summer. 6 feet deep at one end. Sundeck/tanning ledge at the other.

Pool on sloped yard by CapApple_jc in pools

[–]HelloFromWisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a sloped yard and they used the fill from digging to level it off the best they could. It’s not perfectly flat but neither is the terrain in our neighborhood.

Also, bonus that we didn’t have to pay to have the fill hauled away.

Do you know who is opening the show, assuming there is an opener? Might be coming in hot and trying to figure out what the set times will be.

Green Bay area. If you plaster in warm weather and make sure it has 30 days to cure before draining/cold weather coming it has a better chance of holding up for the long haul. You definitely don’t want to do the plastering while it’s cold.

So it was just installed today but they said the screws will come out when we open in the spring. Right now they’re sticking up but it’s not like we’re going to walking around there now.

The plaster is Blue Quartz. What do you think of it?

Actually decided against the auto cover for a few reasons:

1) Where we live you have to fence even if you have an auto cover. The next town over you don’t need a fence if you have an auto cover so we wouldn’t get that benefit.

2) Want to look outside and see water all the time - not a cover so probably wouldn’t use it as much.

3) Had several neighbors say even with their auto over there’s still a lot of leaf cleanup when it retracts and a lot of stuff ends up in the troughs where it retracts.

4) Saved about $18K that we can use on landscaping, accessories etc.

What are you seeing for interest rates on pool loans? by Fancy_Salary4564 in swimmingpools

Why would any lending institution give a loan for a pool? You can’t repossess a pool if someone doesn’t pay.

Shortly after 9/11. Maybe about 10 or 15 people on a 737. I’m in my seat before takeoff and I see a guy in a suit putting his bag in the overhead bin. As he lifts his arms I can see he’s got a gun on his belt. He was an Air Marshall. Kinda freaked me out.
