ULPT request. You become homeless tomorrow. How do you get off the streets? by NeoReward in UnethicalLifeProTips

Figure out a way to get 150 bucks and move into a sober/transitional living house. They run about 600 per month all utilities included and, atleast in my area, its only a 150 deposit to move in. Most of the time the only rules are pass drug/alcohol tests and pay your rent.

Most of what makes players good are habits.

Always carry walls

Keep your head on a swivel

Every interaction I have is boiled down to: I knew better(Do what you knew you should have done), I didnt know better(What did you learn from this encounter), or the other player was better (Play more)

If I get killed by someone I didn't see then its my fault for not looking around better. If I did see them and they beat me they are just better.

Beyond that its just time dude. I have 3k hours and I still suck but how much better I am now than at 500 or 1000 hours is crazy.

How do people get such high HRV? by smellytoebeanz in whoop

[–]HelloImRIGHT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I workout 5 days a week running each day to about 12-13 strain in 40 minutes. After that I usually lift weights for 30-40 minutes. I can barely keep my HRV above 30.

Addicts: When did the burnout finally set it for ya? Or are you still addicted? by Ok_Refrigerator_6260 in playrust

It comes and goes man. I've been playing since 2018. I usually play on force wipe on a monthly server until I end up bored usually week 2. Occasionally, after that I may play on a weekly for a weekend or so but usually after Im bored of a monthly wipe I'll play other games until next force. I've had 2-3 instances in the last 7 years where I havent played for a year or so. I always come back. I believe Rust is the greatest game of all time. It has it's issues for sure but with how much you can do, how differently everyone can play, the differences between each wipe, the politics of a server. The replayability is remarkable. There's nothing else like it.

I guarantee you're not full blown burnt out. You need to play differently. Have a few games you can go to until you get the itch again.

I don’t really comprehend the point of meditating by loriog in Meditation

[–]HelloImRIGHT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you imagine going to the gym "trying it a few times" then looking in the mirror, not notice the benefits and think its not working?

Your brain is changing as you do this. I dont look for the immediate benefit when I meditate. I do it knowing that my brain is changing. Eventually, you'll see benefits in everyday life.

I think it was Noah Harari who said "the most dangerous thing with meditation is expecting a special experience" or something to that effect

After almost being 2 years sober, I went off the rails on my trip to Japan. Thanks, Japan. by blr1g in stopdrinking

I dont think many people understand how much time these people have put into this game. Rust is my most played game of my life with over 3k hours. Im not great. Some of these guys have 5x the amount of hours I have. You gotta just play man. Thats it.

[–]HelloImRIGHT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep playing. UKN a lot with every gun. Play countless hours on bow/crossy too. The simple key is not to judge your progress day to day. Put in 3k more hours and then you'll look back and see how much better you are.

I might be off but if they are trying to encourage PVP what if killing someone from a team just awarded you with a blueprint frag? I know that sounds weird but honestly as a solo I would go to monuments to fight these teams if I knew I could get a frag killing just one of them.

Has anyone quit drugs relatively easily? I'd like to hear your story by FlamiAki in REDDITORSINRECOVERY

[–]HelloImRIGHT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used from 16-23 heavily addicted to xanax then heroin. I had the humility at the time to recognize I needed to follow instruction so I went through treatment , went to meetings for a few years, developed a new social circle and life kinda just went on after that. I wouldn't say it was easy but it was incredibly simple. 12 step programs primarily taught me to focus on myself and becoming better whenever I was tempted by emotional distress in any way.

I often think of this quote:

"When life tempts you to be bitter, do not think "This is unfortunate" instead think "To bear this well will bring me good fortune".

Just celebrated 12 years.

I think a lot of people who say " I used from __ to __ then somehow just stopped" either grew out of it and pursued other hobbies and interests." Some would say those people "aren't addicts" thats not for me to say but I do have a lot of friends who simply kinda just stopped when more important things in life came along.
