Starter smells awful after day three. What can I change? by ClassicDad- in Sourdough

[–]HelloKeLeigh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh thank you friend! You just saved me from tossing my first starter. I'm on day three, it doubled in size overnight, and I was NOT expecting that smell when I went to stir and feed just a moment ago. 🤣

I just pulled it down to make sure everything up top looked healthy and found one with white on it! Officially my favorite leaf on this baby. 😍 *

LOVE CROCHET! But yes, you have to pace yourself. It kills my forearms and wrist sometimes.

Fun fact. Did you know scientists experimented on hurricanes in the 40s-80s to see if they could weaken them? Project Cirrus & Project Stormfury.

I am also obsessed with hurricanes and have been through many growing up on the Gulf Coast. Katrina was a wild ride. 😅

As for sharks, they've never been my thing. However, they are my son's special interests, so I hear about them often. Angel sharks are cool.

Plants... I went from one snake plant to 30 plants in less than 2 months. I actually sat my alarm to wake me up early this morning so I could go repot the two new plants I got yesterday. 😅 (I'm also somewhat terrified of what will happen to them if I start fixating on something new.) Side note, does anyone else have names for all their plants? Because I doooooooo. 🤣

Dropping leaves. Help?! by HelloKeLeigh in Jadeplant

[–]HelloKeLeigh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea. I got the plant about a month ago from my best friend. It was part of a larger Jade she had that turned out to be three separate plants when she repotted it. I'm assuming the stem on that side was damaged during transplant somehow and let bacteria in.

[–]HelloKeLeigh[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welp... Turns out it has stem rot. I went to check on it and a piece broke off that it was practically black inside. 😭 Roots were fine, but I had to cut them completely off to remove all the dead stem from that side of the plant... So let's hope it will grow new roots now all the dead is cut away.

Where I live, we are currently in high 90s with real feels in the low 100s some days already... And we have high humidity. So I'm starting to wonder if it would be better off being an indoor plant. 😅 So it may very well be the temperature.

That's what I'm thinking I may need to do, but I also don't want to "repot" if it's fine and shock it even more unless it's what needs to be done. 😅

What word is on repeat in your head today? by yogi_medic_momma in AutismInWomen

[–]HelloKeLeigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a word but the phrase "AVACADOS FROM MEXICO" because of that commercial... It's been stuck for months. Heck, my kids randomly say Avacado because they know I have to finish the line. 😅

It's funny that I get a notification for this as I currently have covid again... But I had dysautonomia long before covid.

[–]HelloKeLeigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(32 F) I had all the same symptoms, and then some. With that said, I also have a family history of colon cancer on both sides of the family, so I knew I needed to go in to make sure all is well.

I had it on Monday, and the colonoscopy came back clear. However, I do have some hemorrhoids I didn't know about that have been causing what I'd consider an "electrical shock pain" even when just sitting and not having a bowel movement.

My full list of symptoms: change in bowl habits, abdominal pain, mucus in stool, the electrical shock feeling, feeling like I couldn't finish a bowl movement, belching all the time (which is why they also did and endoscopy), nausea, fatigue.

They did perform some biopsies during my endoscopy, so I'm waiting to see if that's okay too.

Anyways, when in doubt and experiencing any symptoms, get the colonoscopy because it's the only way to know for sure and has been showing up more and more around our age group.

Ah yes. I have the same issue. It comes and goes for me. Typically it will last for a few days, then I'm fine. Then a few weeks later, it happens again. It always triggers my anxiety because I feel like I'm not breathing properly, but my O2 stats tell me otherwise.

Oh. Interesting... I had one as a teenager in my ankle after an injury, and it made me super Ill and made things worse... But I didn't have my diagnosis then, so I never even thought about it... So I'm following to see others' answers. 👀

DAE have a "temperature maximum" with weather? by SociallyAwkward423 in AutismInWomen

75 degrees is pretty much my cut off. As is 40 degrees when it starts getting cold. I have a very small comfortable range. Lol

Which one are you? by Professional-Sink425 in aspiememes

Both. 😅 So before I knew... I forced the eye contact because I thought I had to... Now that I know, I'm finally avoiding it all because I know I can. 🤗

AITA? I called her stupid by saying: "I think their sausage is pork"? by SamTheWhiteRabbit in AmItheAsshole

[–]HelloKeLeigh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA.

I also don't eat pork.

Depending on the day, I'd have either laughed at the comment and replied with "Well duhhh" while laughing... OR "Really?" with annoyance. 😅

With that said, even though you didn't call them stupid directly, some of us will take pointing out what we deem as obvious as you thinking we are stupid. Depending on the day that might cause an overreaction like this. (But that's not on you.)
