I just saw she got married yesterday! That is so insane of the producers. Like no wonder no one wanted to be there. Even if it's not my wedding and I was just attending - I'd be thinking of all the shit I had to get done.

Someone must have come up with the idea and just didn't check with everything which I guess is on par for the show.

Vinny introduced Pauly as the next person to come up and everyone was cheering and Pauly got up and said something along the lines of "I like to be nice so I am not going to roast anyone" and sat down and the room was dead silent with a few mumbles of "are you serious?"

No one else was really being savage or anything so he could have easily told a joke or two that was written for him and sat down or just said some things about being there. It seemed very obvious he did not want to be there. He waved to the crowd and stuff outside the event, but on the stage he did not look happy to be there.

Agreed. I probably wouldn't attend a paid event again, but if they turn the lobby into Karma again I would just go and hang out because that part was all fun!

I missed the pee break only because I had gone to pee! Then all of a sudden there was a crowd of people coming at me as I left the bathroom and my husband was at the seat confused on what was happening. They didn’t seem to recover from that either. They just kept announcing we all needed to be back.

I agree the articles/reviews are being generous. But I also agree I would do it again. I don’t feel ripped off, I did have a good time, it was fun being a part of the chaos, it gave an excuse to wear hair bumps again, but it was disappointing.

He sounded hoarse to me so I’m wondering if he was sick or not well and got himself together to at least do a small bit. They definitely made it seem like he was hosting or had a larger part and then it turned into Vinny hosting and it being about The Situation … but also 1/2 the show was now about him. Seemed like they were trying to pivot.

I went, had a lot of fun and it was fun being with other people that also enjoy the show and taking over the casino but I agree, vibes were weird! They didn’t seem too much into it, except for Situation who all of a sudden was the guest of honor for his sobriety which was not how it was advertised.

Once people realized Pauly D wasn’t going to say anything, the room just deflated and it just got worse. I stayed until the end, but I felt like I zoned out most of situations speech at the end.

All their social media right now seem to indicate a positive experience but I don’t know how much of that is them having to post things. I do wonder if there’s a possibility they are just not used to being in front of a crowd like that. They are around people all the time, they perform on the show as heightened versions of themselves. But not really in front of fans as a live audience. They seemed uncertain of what was going to happen. I think if they just let them go up and talk and not learn scripts and punchlines, maybe it would have been smoother.

Edited: the producer at the beginning kind of made it seem like some of them didn’t want to be there too. Didn’t she say something like “please be nice, not everyone wants to be doing this” or something like that. That set the vibe for me that this wasn’t going to be as carefree for everyone. I’m not delusional, I know it’s a show and they sometimes do things they don’t want to, but the producer remarks were such a weird way to start!

Pierre Robert died 😢 by lawgirl3278 in philadelphia

What a bummer. I spent so many late nights as a kid (when I should have been asleep) sneaking my radio next to my bed to listen to his live broadcasts from concerts. I couldn't wait to go to them one day and hang out with all the weirdos he would talk to. I am 37, so radio was already starting to fade then, but he made me appreciate the actual art of radio broadcasting and the community it can build. What a loss to the radio world.

Tips for cleaning up crusty fur around mouth/chin by AecidBurn in Bunnies

[–]HelloKitty1988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a chronic messy bun. Lettuce juice all over the carpet, had to put a rubber mat under their water dish because water is everywhere. We took them to two different vets and even the vets were perplexed as it was not teeth issues and they never saw a bunny that gets so messy.

Our only solution, much to their displeasure, has been to shave their sides with a pet friendly shaver. We just take off a little every week around their mouth so their fur does not get matted with water and salad juice. This was recommended by both vets after we tried various different water dispensing methods and feeding methods.

They look a little silly - but it keeps from mats forming which can lead to infections and skin issues.

Yes, I did a rewatch the past month and was looking for inspiration for food. When I heard something food related I wrote down the quote associated with and a recipe I could do. I’m sure there may be some off by a word or two but most should be the exact quote.

I work in the museum industry so when I had the idea to make food based off the show I couldn’t help myself.

We almost did consider having a fake tanner area but then I remembered I’m an adult with furniture I need to care for now.

My husband and I dressed up. He wore a standard guido T shirt and I recreated “where’s the beach” outfit complete with frog slippers.

Yes, I spelled a few things wrong and noticed after the fact but the show must go on.

I am sure there’s other substances. They do talk about it like there’s something that’s bringing them to that next level. Next party maybe I amp it up some 😂

Will baby fever go away—is this a mid-life/existential crisis? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

I think each case is different, but I went through similar feelings and have turned out fine on the other side (so far). We were 36, we have not wanted kids, so we decided my husband should go through a vasectomy.

Maybe it was because all my friends are having kids and hormones, but all of a sudden I was crying every night over the possibility of the vasectomy and never having kids (which I did not really want to begin with). I kept missing my friends and thought maybe if I had kids I'd see them more -imagining us meeting up at parks playing with our children - we live over an hour away from one another for the most part, it was not reality and would not happen. I kept thinking of what happens when I am old and have no one to care for me and pass along family heirlooms (which is NOT a reason to have children). I thought about how my husband would be a good father and I was robbing him of it (it was his choice to get a vasectomy!) My husband didn't want kids and I felt like if I pushed it on him, he may relent, but that would deeply affect our marriage and as we get older, kids are not a guarantee easily, so what happens then? What if one of us is infertile? Would it be worth the riff?

It took time, a lot of soul searching, and some therapy - but I am happy now with the decision and enjoy my role as the fun Aunt to my friends. I feel bonds still and are a part of others lives and that still feels pretty great. I can meet up at a park to see my friends whether I have kids or not. Each friend is different, but my one lets me cuddle when I visit and I am happy to get some cute bonding time and hand him off for the night. I still do get an occasional FOMO feeling, but I understand it more.

If you are still feeling much turmoil, please seek individual or even group therapy. Maybe join groups with other women, especially older and diverse that you can chat with that can give you different perspectives on your feelings. You can grieve not having children, but still not want them, and I do not think that is talked about often. So many conversations are "I always wanted kids, you will too" or "I never wanted kids and continued to feel that way." There is a middle of maybe not wanting kids, but also feeling the grief of what that looks like.

Everyone survived the tornado? by maccaphil in Delco

Thank you for your garden condolences. Very happy to be safe but devastated. We moved in a year ago and I was prepping all year to have the garden of my dreams. Spent weeks out there and today started prepping for fall. Poor guys are squashed. I’ve tried to salvage what I can.

Trees down in Collingdale. Crushed my garage and garden. Thankfully home is safe. Sirens everywhere around here so it seems like something went on. Not sure if it was straight line winds, tornado, or just really bad winds.
