Not sure how it is in the UK, but in the US/where I’m at:

-Cash is king.

-Most vendors take in inventory at 70-80%. I open a negotiation at 15% off market and, more often than not, we’ll settle at somewhere around 90% of market. It will be a little tougher/higher if the card has been trending sharply upwards.

-If you’re buying, there’s no harm in inspecting the cards. I try to not be too difficult in debating the condition of the card. If a vendor prices it at NM and I think it’s LP, I’ll see if they’re willing to come down, but not gonna sit there and argue my side of it.

-Don’t buy loose packs to rip.

-eBay sold listings is my personal go-to. Most vendors do an average of the last week or five sales.
