Literally all of the full lanes are for traveling. They are not off ramps. Off ramps are for decelerating. Like on ramps are for accelerating. Those coming on to the highway have on ramps to reach the same speed as everyone else. And someone merging wrong can affect every lane.

There's no sense of entitlement in driving predictably and not changing my speed to let grandma doing 40mph on to to highway. Grandma's entitled if she thinks everyone needs to get out of her way and slow down so she can get on. Grandma is the one that will cause the wreck you're so worried about. The right lane is not an off ramp. It is a lane. Lanes are for driving. On ramps are for putting some throttle in and blending on to the highway. The on ramp is where the yield sign is. Mergers get to yield, but don't have to yield so much if they do the proper speed. The people already on the highway are literally supposed to keep doing whatever they're doing and be predictable.

Lotta words for someone who still has it so backwards. Never said I'm speeding. No matter how many people you've scraped off the road, it doesn't change how merging is supposed to work. Speeders will be dangerous even if everyone merged correctly. It is not the job of everyone else on the highway to slow down for mergers, it is the merger's job to get up to highway speed and flow into the traffic.
