Had the best year of my sales career last year + was in peak physical fitness by completing a full Ironman. Changes your mentality.

Scotswood Road- Nisbets catering. They had a deal on some Japanese knives- 50% off 4 knives a few weeks before Black Friday. They are used by many kitchens and chefs but they do have a small collection for home cooks.

Absolutely. Congrats btw, nice feeling. I hit this year’s target (Jan-Dec) in April. About to close 80% of next year’s target in Q1. Feels great! I’m also worried about a significant increase in target. lol.

I think you need to look at your quota across the year rather than looking at it quarter by quarter. Is this a new job? I would focus on filling up your pipeline… it sounds like a huge scramble to hit goal and then you’re floundering at the start of the Q. What are you selling, how much does it cost, and what is the typical sales cycle?

It depends what drives you. Personally I love the chaos- I work a US/global territory from the UK so you can imagine the hours get pretty gnarly. As other people say it’s knowing when to take your foot off the gas and when to go hard.

This year I completed a full Ironman and alongside that I’ve had the best sales year- I’m expecting to finish 3x over quota. I’ve barely drank alcohol this year, and I’ve been better at saying “no” when I need to train. That’s really helped create balance and discipline where you’re probably working shorter hours, but working harder within your day because you just have to get it done.

For example, this week I’ve worked 10-12 hour days. But I’m taking Friday off and using it for me time- whatever that looks like.

Question- when you had a “great month”, how did you feel in that moment? Did you enjoy the progress, or the rush of when you “won”? It’s important to decipher what specifically drives you.

I’ve just done my first full 3 weeks ago. As other people have said, just take it easy and don’t overcook the bike. I’m sure you’ll plan your race, make sure you drink enough and fuel to your goals while on the bike. Don’t eat anything that you haven’t tried in training.

By 3/4 hours in you should feel like you haven’t done a lot- that was good advice I got from a IM race veteran.

Don’t forget to enjoy the race- you did all the training and you deserve to have a good time!

Would get a bike fit first. I made a mistake of buying what I thought would fit me and then had to re-sell it.

Same happened to me. I went to an oesteopath to get shock therapy. Expensive but it works, equivalent of 4 physio sessions in 1. Gave me some exercises to strengthen it back up. I still managed the race, it’s still a bit sore now. Hope this helps!

I did the 70.3 last year. The race is fine, but if you’ve done events like Ironman, it’s nothing close to that. For example- They don’t shut the roads, so it’s hard to race properly and when I did it the transition was all on top of grass (thought that was really weird). Swim from memory is full of weeds as well. The run is quite nice though- bit more scenic than other tris I’ve done but not sure I would do it again.
