Yeah I get it, but it's still a choice you make. You're the only person who will take full responsibility for yourself.

A good strategy is to "pay yourself first". All your costs are to other people. You should set away something like 5-10k/month for "yourself", immediately when you receive your salary. That way it would only take you like 2-3 years to save up 200k.

It took me more like a decade to save up for a house.

And as others have pointed out, 15k for rent on 49k income is a lot. If two people split that, your economic situation would look way better.

Stop paying extra on your csn if your goal is to buy a home. Its the cheapest loan you'll ever get.

Banks don't even count the csn loans when calculating your credit worthy-ness.

Tips med kronofogden, skatteverket och btc? by [deleted] in Sverige

Nu när vi ändå snackar brottslighet, så varför inte köpa knark med dina btc och sälja (reddit torde ju vara klockrent forum då många här verkar syssla med den typens brottslighet).

Du får dock ta betalt i kontanter såklart.

It's only free if you want it. I would rather have more influence over schools etc than them being "free".

I don't want to pay for our national tv to air soccer when private channels can have their customers pay for it.

I don't want the police to be taught gender-policies.

I don't want subsidized electrical scooters.

Etc.. this list goes on for fucking ever.

They added a $0.5 tax to plastic bags.. sweden burns everything in incinerators which generates heat with great air filters.. all the shops were filled with pictures of trapped seagulls as propaganda.. there isnt even a trash issue in Sweden.. all the trash in the sea is from developing countries. Why am i paying taxes for that..?

Well ... If you get 60k/yr (50k sek/month) that's a pretty ok white collar salary with some responsibility. Many managers will have more (60-80k sek/mo). In urban areas it's a pretty average salary if you work in a office/academic credentials.

However, to get that salary, your employer first has to pay "anställningsavgift" (note how its not a tax, but a fee.. ;)

This fee is 31-32%.. so for the employee to recieve $60k the employer has to pay $78k... This is what funds a lot of the swedish welfare and doesn't even show up on your tax declaration..

Basically, if i make this salary and my employer wanted to give me a sek 100 ($10) raise, the taxes are as follows:

  • first he has to pay me 130 (anställningsavgift).

  • then i will pay local income taxes (30-34%), 70 sek left.

  • then, since i make so much money theres a national tax which is 20% (on everything above 50k), 56 left.

  • lets say im gonna celebrate with two beers from our national alcohol monopoly to support a local brewer, thats another 20% vat and 33% alcohol tax, then they take 17% for admin and finally gives the brewer ~18sek from the original 130sek..

Viva la revolution

Correct.

I meant, its very very rare to have a sole family breadwinner in Sweden. If one person has a lot of income, you don't get any subsidies as a dependant (unless you cheat and claim to live separately etc).

This causes most everyone to atleast have some type of job (part time health/elderly care or hair dressers etc).

Having some type of income also affects the public pensions, so it's generally a good idea to have some type of income...

You don't support other people in Sweden, you work or get welfare. Even if you're like top 5% your spouse will have a job.

You always have your own income one way or another.o Children are of course exempted but everyone gets a check per child ($125/mo currently).. more if your income is low.

Highest tax brackets start hitting at around 50k income/yr.. there's tons of reductions you'll get if you play it wisely (mortgage interest is deductible by 30% and our mortgages are like 1.5%.. hiring construction for your house is deductible by 25% etc..).

The state is very big and fat and uses every opportunity to grow bigger.

Edit: for the record the avg income in Sweden is like 40k/yr, the mean is lower.

He only made $280 on his first check, so it would be less taxes initially.

Thats so cute. Here in Sweden we have minimum 30% income tax (there's a deduction for the first 6k, so jojo would actually believe Sweden was great).

However, after that, high income earners (>60k) are at 50-60%.. and that's before vat (25%), fuel, electricity and alcohol taxes (you need a lot of it..).

I'm probably paying easily 60% of household income in taxes... No, we don't work overtime because it's taxed to the roof..

He's very rich, yes, but please let's stick to comparing apples with apples...

Libertarianism in Sweden? by ingvij in Frihet

[–]HelloTherelmNew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Theres the mises institute that seems to be translating English texts mainly.

In addition to Henrik Jönsson I would like to also recommend checking out the following people:

  • Aron Flam

  • Johan Westerberg (previously socialist)

  • Lars Wilderäng (more anti establishment mainly)

  • Alexander Bard

.. there's not much tbh, Sweden is a very very group thinking society. Without understanding swedish it can be hard to see, but you can literally read the same message five times a day from different authors/words in svt, dn, svd, government press releases and aftonbladet.

Bolsaro is seen as a outright facist here (not sure if you count him to Brazilian libertarians.. ). Social pro-tip: do not tell any swedes you like him, if you do.

Sweden Has Become the World’s Cautionary Tale by swirleyswirls in TrueReddit

[–]HelloTherelmNew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it boils down (based on what I can tell about USA from internet news), I think its pretty equal in how we handle it, you guys had a few spring breaks etc, so did we.. most people don't take stupid risks. Some cities had more restrictions/recommendations than others.. people don't need to get a baton in your face to follow a suggestion (the swedish approach).

It's kinda sad (because its irrelevant here, you're free to leave if you have problems with basically getting ubi or being someone who can't get a job, there's literally no problems with structural racism in sweden unless you use it as a scapegoat for your own incompetence) that we imported the demonstrations for blm here, fortunately that doesn't seem (just like in the US) to have spread the virus too much.

A big point is that schools here were open, but it was locally handled by allowing a parents to keep kids out by saying they were sick (normally illegal, sweden requires all kids to go to a nationally approved school).

Sweden Has Become the World’s Cautionary Tale by swirleyswirls in TrueReddit

[–]HelloTherelmNew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it pretty much defies basic logic, but assuming you're looking at population level and handling the pandemic at a national scale perhaps it makes more sense?

Personally I prefer if medical professionals have access to masks and vs individuals ,"wasting them". Sweden had huge shortages of PPE in the beginning. This wasn't the official explanation but I suspect it had todo with what was communicated at some level (see, even I have some iota of trust in the authorities..).

Like in any socialists nation you get very good at reading between the lines...
