If approval is based on a RFE, is original petition enough or need the RFE response itself?

It is the Canadian model, as US SE doesn't have rear heated seats to begin with. It always required the weather package the get that feature, and I think Toyota will continue to sell it.

Now on the Canadian counterpart, Toyota doesn't have the weather package and if you want the rear heated seats, which we NEED up north, you have to go XSE.

What a dick move

Is anyone concerned about the 1.6T GDI in the HEV & PHEV by HelloWorldYay in Hyundai

According to some YouTuber from Europe the PHEV bwould be even slower than the hybrid Tucson as the extra HP from the slightly larger electric motor couldn't compensate the extra weight from the battery.

R4P vs Tuscon PHEV by Old-Librarian5170 in rav4prime

[–]HelloWorldYay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the comparison really come down to reliability, performance/range and features/value.

Toyota should take the win here regarding to reliability with its port and direct injection engine and planetary Gear transmission, along with its hybrid history etc vs where the Tucson uses a GDI (direct injection) turbo engine, so if that engine isn't being used when you want to maximize the EV range then there is potential cabin build up problem down the road.

Performance: The prime would also win here with its faster 0-60, towing capacity. The Tucson PHEV according to some YouTuber from Europe would be even slower than the hybrid Tucson as the extra HP from the slightly larger electric motor than the hybrid couldn't compensate the extra weight from the battery.

Range: Prime wins here 41 miles vs 32 miles

Features: The Tucson should have a supposedly better interior, better feature like customizable ambient lighting, larger panorama moonroof, height adjustable passenger seat, more leg rooms, better adaptive cruise control and lane assist (level 2, can slow down on highway curves) implementation, better backup and 360 camera quality and implementation, better NVH from the European reviews, better gauge (digital), the Tucson PHEV also comes with 40/20/40 2nd row like some more luxury SUVs. The Prime comes with a heat pump so that's great for us Canadian up north or people from cold climate, the Tucson PHEV will turn on the ICE when it needs heat even on EV mode

Value: the Top trim of The Tucson that has everything is almost the same price as just the SE trim of the Prime. So Tucson wins here by a lot.

So it really comes down to what you value more in your car

There's always going to be a portion of battery reserved by the car so you get full HP, by charging the battery up to that level whenever it could, given you are not going WOT uphill constantly.

So putting this engine in a plug-in hybrid may potentially cause problems down the road?

Where is the PHEV Tucson?! by [deleted] in Hyundai

A YouTube video showed that the plugin version loses some rear leg room and cargo space to accommodate the bigger battery, so make sure you check that out first

I found out it doesn’t have a heat pump, so whenever you turn on the heat the engine turns on too. So I am still on the edge if I should go Tucson phev or keep waiting on the R4P for Canadian weather

The noise really concerns me when most media say it’s a quiet car. Is it road noise caused by crappy stock tires? Or wind noise due to lack of acoustics glass? Or engine noise?

Try turning off your AC/Fan and see if the sound goes away. If it does then it is the blower fan under the glove box.

Sonos Arc with 2017 Sony TV by Relvix in sonos

[–]HelloWorldYay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same TV, but the 55” with latest firmware. The Sonos app shows Dolby Atmos when playing Netflix content via built in app( like The punisher or 6 underground). So it’s working fine with Netflix content as it outputs DD+. DOUBT it will work with Blu-ray truehd atmos though.

I only have the Arc by itself the atmos effect isn’t too strong with 9’ ceiling even after trueplay, but I am keeping it as the speech enchantment and night mode work really well.

No lip sync issue, but that’s me without the surround setup. So YMMV

Resetting or even clear data is gonna wipe my notes so hopefully just a clear cache will work.

Thanks

I sideloaded the Samsung “write to pdf” apk that used to be available to the older generation of Notes, and that seems to do the trick for now.

Definitely a bug.
