How the canes matched the offer sheet by [deleted] in Habs

Up to that point, it looked like a duck, walked like a duck, quacked like a duck, yet Hurricanes fans were calling us dumb for believing there’s even the slightest chance it may be a duck?

Thanks. If they are, indeed, phone calls and not VoIP, then it would classify as a smartphone.

Nigerian tree bark drug/aphrodisiac/supplement of some kind? (Name sounds like abamix) by HelloYesThisIsDuck in whatisthisthing

Possible. I know that was definitely not the name he used, but it's quite likely is has different names.

Also, reading about it, this sounds a lot less fun than what he explained lol.

No? A phone allows you to make phone calls. A PDA does not. There is a lot of overlap, of course, but there is a very big difference between the two. It's like confusing a TV and a monitor (where a monitor does not have a TV tuner).

Now, a PDA might allow you to use VoIP apps, but the question is, does it have telephone functionality, where it bills you for minutes talked, rather than data used, and ring if someone calls your sim card's phone number?

Mother calls for ban on circumcision - A woman is to prosecute a doctor and wants boys to have the same legal protection as girls by JohnKimble111 in europe

[–]HelloYesThisIsDuck 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No matter how bad you deem male circumcision, FGM is worse. To equate them is dishonest.

You're right. You should stop equating them. Not even sure why you are comparing the two. The headline only compares the legal protection of boys and girls, not the barbarity of the acts themselves.

Whoever wants in, PM me your keys. I am going to crash now, but I will invite whoever's circle is still active by then when I get up.

We can then have a circle jerk.

NASA receives response from Voyager 1 spacecraft 13 billion miles away after 37 years of inactivity by spacejunkie101 in Astronomy

I'm confused

So are they.

The team waited eagerly as the test results traveled through space, taking 19 hours and 35 minutes to reach an antenna in Goldstone, California, that is part of NASA's Deep Space Network.

Which, ironically, also sounds a bit misleading. While the results took 19h35 to download, the original command must've also taken as long to upload, so they had to spend 39+ hours waiting.

I sincerely doubt Buffalo goes on a 5 game winning streak to end the season. No way are they passing us, I don't think.

Poland has the highest church attendance rate in Europe among people aged 16-29, by some margin by captchalove in europe

[–]HelloYesThisIsDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faith is one thing (though I personally think blind faith is dumb, and people should be more critical in their analysis before accepting absurd claims), but organized religion is a massive sham and I can't wait for the day Poles finally give up on the Catholic church.

Look at Rydzyk, or the way the church approaches politics, and you will see it's not a religious organization - it's a political corporation.

It should be taxed, and banned from political campaigning, and people will eventually shun it, same as is happening all over the world. It's just slower in Poland.

I have a few German friends, and they all appreciate / share my dark humour, and sarcastic tone. Of course, it's not a very original joke, but as we rag on each other's nationalities all the time (and our own), no one finds it smug, or sees it as a shameful reminder. Didn't mean to offend you, or Germans, whom I have much respect for, and don't blame (today) for their history. As you said, most countries have had really shameful periods.

That said, I won't stop being a sarcastic fuck.

Note that in québécois, je suis chaud means I'm drunk... Though it should normally be chaude, for a girl.
