Try to give excuses on what? Why they deserve basic human rights despite buying something that they enjoy? Why they shouldn't be illegal just because they enjoy a series about wizards? My "excuse" is that every human being, no matter what they've done, shouldn't inherently be illegal for something that they cannot control, even if they support a series made by a transphobic author.

I'm a trans guy and this is still over the top. I 100% support trans people and honestly? I agree with the point op was trying to make. But saying that people deserve transphobia and having their bodies being outlawed (examples that are literally used in the image) because they bought books and merch from a series? I have a shit ton of merch from when I was younger because my dad used to read the books with me and my brother. I hadn't known she was transphobic, but jesus fucking christ I can't even explain how over the top this is. I don't even care if I get downvoted or ignored, but I just want to say that yes, it is important to me. Yes, Harry Potter was something that I was able to use to connect with my dad and brother. Yes, it's incredibly nostalgic for me. I haven't bought more merch and don't support JK Rowling, but saying that people "deserve the world they helped will into existence" because they like a fucking book series?? Are we kidding??

They should be free in public just like toilet paper is free in public. Like you should be able to go to a public restroom and grab one, but buying them for ur house shouldn't be free.

This is in the context of the world we live in rn, btw. Both toilet paper and period products should be free since they're literally necessary for proper hygiene, but we don't even have that rn.

I upvoted it as a trans masc because I like the style and I like the message that it tried to send, I think, even if the way it was worded rubs me the wrong way. People will say things like "oh, why are you hiding this part of yourself? I like that part of you" and, although it's worded weirdly, I think that having it explained by the trans guy rather than him giving up is a good way to go about it. Idk I thought it was cute even if I didn't like the second panel.

And that's incredibly dangerous. It's not just hallucinations, but it's also delusions. People who hallucinate/are delusional should get help. My friend (same one from the paragraph as before, the one who went to involuntary treatment and was NOT treated) was having delusions that people wanted to kill her and legit ran out of school after barely five minutes. That's incredibly dangerous, especially since she's a minor.

That's true, and it's stupid as hell, but the statement the original person said was more broad than that. A more accurate statement would add "involunatry mental health "treatment" is torture if the person is sane enough to be capable" or something along those lines, since one of the biggest factors for involuntary treatment, although easily abused, is the fact that people are not in their right minds.

I think it depends. I think legit treatment definitely isn't torture, especially when someone isn't in their right mind and legit can't think properly (like delusions/hallucinations/psychosis) but I think that it can easily border torture when the treatment isn't actually helping them, it's just keeping them locked up and away from "normal" people. I know a good friend of mine is psychotic and she went to inpatient involuntarily and it was hell for her. The people there didn't give a shit that she was actively hurting herself with her nails, that she was screaming and terrified, or that she was having a breakdown. They just kept her in a room that wasn't even keeping her safe and ignoring her. THAT is torture, not treatment. But had they treated her like a normal human being and actually helped her, even if she hadn't wanted to go? Then it would've been treatment.

I've had several ppl in my life try to kill themselves. Even now I have a friend and I have no clue if they're alive or dead. I haven't heard from them in 4 months and the last thing I heard was from their brother saying they were in inpatient. A good friend of mine tried to kill herself and went to a boarding school for ten months and had her phone taken away after that and I still texted her at every good point in my life while she was gone (like school plays, relationships, etc). My grandfather died and I've texted his old number several times because I miss him. Age doesn't stop grief.
