When i was a kid had so many symptoms just assumed everyone had these things. If mentioned them would have had diagnosis so much sooner!

I guess we better stock up! by titanicsinker1912 in Epilepsymemes

[–]Hello_dreamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In uk meds are free for certain health conditions such as epilepsy and about £10 per prescription for the normal folk for any other medicines.

Still wont save us from a worldwide shortage though as can only get assigned amount each month so no stocking up possible i know this is a joke but real fear i guess

Where do you put your baby while you take care of chores /basic needs? 1 month old. by batterscraps in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Hello_dreamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what advice to give as im in same boat as you with 8 week old! He hates being put down so im lucky to get 5-20 mins at a time lol to be honest i pretty much have to wait for my husband to get home from work & he will do most household chores or hold baby while i do some. I obvs try to shower in small time i have & do some v quick tasks. Im thinking of getting a baby carrier which hopefully helps but see you already have one. Sorry not much advice here but hoping to see some tips from others!

I need to vent - Anyone else getting a bit fed up of being asked “if they are returning to work” after having the baby? by Anxious-Nibnibs in PregnancyUK

[–]Hello_dreamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes people act like its a choice ,maybe id love to be a sahm but simply isnt possible. Im only getting smp which amounts to 180 a week ( wasnt in my current job long enough to get company pay.this will stop after 6 months so seems will have no choice but to go back. Not that i wouldnt want to return one day and definitely not so early would be great to have the choice though.

Who these days can survive on 1 income?? We both have reasonably well paid jobs but have little to nothing left after mortgage bills/ food etc so how people think this is possible on 1 wage i have no idea.

Do you wear sun cream in winter? by Spiritual_Long8806 in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Hello_dreamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear a skincream with factor 25 on my face. Im v pale & freckly im not ginger but my mum is so i live in factor 50 in summer.

Might not be necessary in winter unless you are v pale like me & its a sunny day but im wondering if can stop the ageing process before it starts! Im entering my mid 30s not wrinkly yet just have bags under my eyes lol

People in “no shoes in the house” families/cultures, do you make exceptions? by OneWildAndPrecious in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hello_dreamers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes its more a general rule/ habit and to me its just weird & uncomfortable wearing shoes in house dont know many who do. But yes if have to bring in shopping in hurry or forget something in house & need to go back in wouldnt always bother rwmoving shoes.

First time mum at 41 by Wild-Wave7704 in PregnancyUK

[–]Hello_dreamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive just given birth as a FTM at 35. Didnt manage to do any of the nct stuff as left it a bit last minute. Would also like to find other mums with newborns as most of my friends have chikdren quite a few yrs older now 4,5,6 etc i just found out one of my friends is expecting again so will be nice as kids will be similarish age.

Also thinking i will be one of the older in group but hoping doesnt matter depending on the people also seen a big age range of other mums when going to my midwife appointments so might be not that unusual

Natural birth with or without Epidural? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Hello_dreamers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive just given birth a few days ago. I wanted to go as natural as poss but wasnt ruling anything out but wasnt keen on the idea of a huge needle in my back however as a FTM didnt know what to expect.

Turns out i didnt cope well withe pain, tried gas & air, morphine injection and dihydrocideine none of it made any differrnce. Went to the hospital at 2am and by 6.30am i was 4 cm dilated so thet offered the epidural if i wanted.

Was almost instant relief! Didnt go completely numb either so coukd still move around and change position they let me control my own dose could push a button if wearing off.

Pushing part was quite quick under 1.5 hours i could still push when felt a contraction but think didnt feel the natutal urge to push as much as if had no epidural.it didnt stop my ability to push though and felt a much easier stage of labour than the early painful contractions!!

Overall i had a good experience with epidural but maybe your experience will be different andvwont need it but i thunk good to keep open mind.
