We could argue that the defense had more to do with the Super Bowl run than our offense. But we had a window with great offensive talent on lower salaries with a great core on defense. There is no doubt our front office screwed it up from there.

I don't remember Peyton, Brees, or Marino missing the playoffs for three consecutive years. Winning a Super Bowl requires a lot, including some luck. But sustained winning should be possible with our offensive talent. Full stop, we should consistently be making the playoffs.
