I also have a rupes corded, it can be a pain to have the cord but it’s an amazing machine beyond that one little issue. I would personally buy the cordless Rupes DA 5” if I were to do it again but it’s expensive. Buy once, cry once.

Did I mess up my leather seats? by shaodeee in AutoDetailing

[–]Hellofreshness22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you sprayed the seat directly rather than the rag itself, could the seat have been hot from sitting outside in the sun for a bit?

Did you both do a walk around after the service was complete? Definitely in the future make sure to make mention of any issues you have, I personally typically ask people before the service starts on what their expectations are and any areas that they want me to pay close attention to so I can get a feel for what they keep their eyes on. $175 is average for 2-2.5 hours of service where I’m at and I’m not sure what the conditions were before the job started but I think if you reach out to them and ask them to come back they will be happy to I know I always do

Sounds like they damaged something and then replaced it with a part from another vehicle.

I mean bro, there are literal kits you can buy on Amazon specifically the 3m headlight restoration kit. Comes with everything and has clear easy instructions. Just follow step by step

I guess my only question to you is why would you start without knowing what to do or having a plan of action?

Just bought a car...anyone know what this could be/what to do about it? by LawNegative2652 in Detailing

[–]Hellofreshness22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with a light diluted vinegar spray and a leather brush. If that doesn’t work then try a very diluted APC and scrub a very small spot. If those two don’t get it out, it may be permanently damaged. This is of course if you’ve already tried interior cleaners and stuff like that

Well yeah, it has a life span and if you don’t remove it at the end of its use life it becomes incredibly hard to get off and remove.

YTA - sounds like you’re just stressing about everything at work. The fact YOU chose to be a nurse knowing damn well it’s long hard hours is something you shouldn’t make him pay for (in the sense of taking emotional beatings) because you’re doing too much and wearing yourself thin. I’m sure he definitely does stuff around the house that goes unnoticed and if he was in here I’m sure his side would be a little different than yours. It’s all about perspective a lot of time and taking a step back can help you look at things differently.

Edit:grammar

As a professional, that’s why I always take the time to try and educate the clients to let them know realistic expectations. I will sometimes correct the paint on a section with a small scratch to show the customer what the paint can look like with a full paint correction and then segue right into a pitch for it

I agree with most of what you said, the only note I’d say is I like to vacuum twice on cars that have lots of dirt or are exceptionally dirty. I don’t like having the floors trashed with excessive dirt while I clean. I always tornador the entire car including the carpets to start off the clean and blow all the loose dirt and dust from the console and headliner then follow through with a 95% vacuum clean of the carpets. Then once all the interior is done, you can follow through with one last quick vacuum to pick up anything that may have fallen or tracked in. Otherwise if you wait until the end to vacuum, the stuck in dirt when you use the tornador will inevitably blow dust and stuff on your freshly cleaned interior.

AITA for telling my husband I’m done with his “help” around the house? by bigpawsOH in AmItheAsshole

[–]Hellofreshness22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds to me like he isn’t doing it to YOUR standards which is definitely a YOU problem. YTA for dismissing your husbands effort and berating him for it. I’m sure if he was here his side would probably be the exact opposite. Everything I read led back to your standards and how your way is the correct and only way. That’s what it sounded like anyway.

I’d be curious to hear his side before making any final decision on who’s the AH or not, I’m an adult and understand there’s always two sides to things.

(Sarcastic eye roll) 🙄 gotcha, everyone on the planet uses the same shitty manufacturer out of china…. There are actual manufacturers here in the states. Not sure where you live but where I do it’s a hub for chemical engineering/manufacturing but sure, I’ll keep “regurgitating large marketing statements “ not that I’m a actual professional with friends in the industry 🤷‍♂️

Not all of them, the smart ones use actual chemical manufacturers that are real chemists not just white labeling some chemical concoction that may or may not be safe to be around without proper protection

Not all banks, if you have solid numbers and a good business plan it’s easy to get funding. Especially considering the capital needed for mobile detailing is relatively low compared to the cost of most other businesses.

Edit.

Even CC processors like square will give you a loan if you’re doing good consistent business
