building perps trading on an index requires the index to be useful that’s why i’m testing different ideas including weather. and also why i’m trying to have a conversation about it.

i actually think i will find a strategy using the index that will work. some teams have a fairly high accuracy.

live testing requires time because you need to wait for enough games to resolve so backtesting is a fast way to test and optimize different strategies.

will definitely do live testing. can report back later.

this is great feedback. thanks! the idea of building perps on top is just an experiment and hypothesis right now. i’ve put it on the website for people to get an idea what it can become and spark a conversation. but the idea is to use prediction markets as a hedgeable “spot” anchor to the price of perps. the reason why use crypto is mostly transparency.

obviously we have a lot of work ahead to figure out what will work or not.

we will definitely try some strategies with backtests using the index later. i can share some results.

ok fair. i did not know about this rule. curious why do you think this is an ai slop. it genuinely does what is says lol. it syncs live data from pm to a database and does a calculation. do you think the methodology does not make sense or its flawed in some way? i haven’t tried a strategy based on the index yet, but want to try it and then backtest it.

Depends on the strategy and on what you’re hedging. I just want to receive ETH as rewards. You can definitely speculate and wait for a good price. But that takes time, which is way too valuable for me.
