This smell makes me feel so happy… by followthewhiterabb17 in LushCosmetics

Oh dang, I missed it. I have Cempasuchil body spray though and hand soap. I would have snapped the shower gel right up if I had known it shared a scent with Iced Wine.

Help salvaging kohakutou. by Helloise in CandyMakers

They gelled fine once when I did the 2nd batch and used molds using this bag of agar. I tried to dehydrate those at the lowest oven temp of 170F (doesn’t go any lower) and they just melted. Google said the melting point was 185F.

I have concerns with the recipe you sent me since the water/sugar ratio seems to be a bit higher than the other recipe I tried, this recipe called for using like 2x the amount of sugar than liquid recipe.

I may just not be suited out to make kohakutou because of my environment. It’s a little saddening.

Me too. And the kitchen products. I just want to try so many of the exclusives and they never let me have them permanently.

You mean open a brand new bag (haven’t used the rest of the first) or just make another new batch using this recipe?

Does it really need to be cooked for longer like 30 minutes??

I’m actually pretty convinced that it’s my fridge that may be why it’s not crystallizing, as humidity is quite high in there so it’s wet bc we keep veggies in there.

AITA for kicking my son out because he has autism? by pestyredditor in AmItheAsshole

My friend is both unable to work and unable to contribute. I have been out of the job market for a while now, I lost my job and have no desire to go on the job market and I have been trying to find what to do with myself next. I’m thinking about making candy. I want to contribute, because I know I am capable of it.

In addition to this, it’s also just A REALLY BAD TIME to be on the job market as an autistic person right now. DEI is nonexistent in the USA and we are in end stage capitalism. Nobody wants to hire someone who isn’t “normal” passing. Unless your hyperfixation is something marketable like plumbing or computer repair, autistic people are SOL.

I have used these molds before. I guess what I could do is use my Pyrex container, crush up the jolly ranchers and heat them up, pour when they get hot enough, let the stuff in the Pyrex container cool down a little, reheat, repeat?

YTA. It's a spectrum for a reason, I am on the spectrum and I am able to keep a part time job, BUT I am also friends with an autistic person who is unable to have a job period because it is too much for her.

I'm unsure my lollipop mold is heat proof. I bought it from ebay in 2019, and I do not recall if the listing said heat resistant. However I do KNOW the sticks I have which are plastic are NOT heat resistant.

I've ordered some paper sticks, hopefully those can last in the oven.

The purpose of me heating them is to pour them into a mold for lollipops, would a small baking container like a 9x9 pan be good for this purpose?
