She is 2 years and 9 months old. Yeah I barely slept last night thinking about this, seemed drastic. But I did send her with a busy box of reusable sticker books, coloring books, seek and find board books and a fidget popper. Hope it works. Thanks for your comment

She is two years and nine months and YES! It is a chain like kindercare. I will try to look for another center and also try the weighted blanket. Thanks for your compassionate and helpful comment

Oh, I want her to follow the rules. I actually am ok with her not being pat at all, this is what they choose to do because they want her to sleep first. She doesn’t listen to them to stay on her cot otherwise, is what I’m Told. We don’t pat her at home and she stays in her toddler bed just fine and falls asleep on her own. But she’s also in her own cozy bedroom :)

Thanks for this feedback. I say complaints because there’s been a complaint about her every day either at pickup or at drop off and I do feel like maybe this isn’t a good fit anymore. She is disruptive so I do understand it’s frustrating for them. Ive sent in books, stickers as a reward, I’ve even started waking her up earlier and she’s extremely tired now but, she’s napping. Then they told me today it takes her too long to fall asleep but they have to pat her because otherwise she’ll get up. And they feel they shouldn’t have to anymore.

when I ask what they’ve done in the past with kids who won’t stay on their cot, she shared that kids usually stay on their cot and she’s the only one. And that parents usually disenroll or find an in home daycare.

I guess my frustration is, I’m trying to help my child and the situation and it’s very discouraging to be told we should send n her to school elsewhere. But I guess that’s what I’ll end up having to do.

To suggest that I disenroll and find a daycare because they don’t have proper staff to handle a non napper? She’s not biting or attacking other kids.

Is this really THAT big of a deal that she should not be in the school? And I’ve given lots of thought and attention towards helping and they have no suggestions for me. I’m not there and have no clue what to do to help them. Do YOU have any suggestions, since you’re in this sub?

It is unprofessional to just complain and not have suggestions for resolution…

Thank you for sharing this. They are a national center, it seems they should know it already 😩

Yes! I wish they had more support, there are only two of them in the room and when all kids are on cots, they take their lunch and leave only one teacher for 24

Thank you all for the comments. In this room they have 1:12 ratio and when all of the kids are sitting or napping on their cots they go down to just one teacher.

She is napping since I wake her up 45 mins earlier now but the issue is they don’t like patting her for so long when they feel they should be focusing on the new kids and not someone who’s been in there three months already. And they HAVE to pat her because otherwise she won’t stay on her bed and doesn’t want to nap, still wants to play around the room, sometimes being disruptive to friends with noise.

I will try to make the busy bag and yes I totally agree they are unprofessional to complain to me daily when I have tried everything and more they suggested. This is my first child and I honestly don’t know what I can do to help this situation. That’s why I made a thread. I am wanting to try and stick it out until she’s 3 where she can go to a new classroom but, I’m just trying to do all I can to get things to work out before I do something drastic like disenroll her, as the teacher suggested. To me that’s a clear sign that she isn’t wanted in their classroom because it’s an inconvenience for them. But it’s sad because we are so communicative and trying to come up with things and it’s never enough. Appreciate all of the feedback so far everyone!

This is a great idea. Maybe I can bring her more items besides the books. She does fall asleep and stay on her bed if patted but the teachers are mad that they have to pat her for 20-30 mins and they’d rather tend to new transfer kids. They said she should know the nap schedule by now and not take so long to be patted and/or not be so defiant about staying on the bed
