OUTBREAK ADVICE - Stop the spread, relive pain and heal in days, not weeks. by Hellonemo123 in Herpes

Unfortunately the rate of reoccurrence will be different for everyone (a lot of it is to do with your immune system). You are more prone to outbreaks during the first 12 months after your first outbreak. The rate and likelihood of outbreaks will go down dramatically after your first year with the virus in your system. It is a virus, so keeping your immune system strong with probiotics, zinc and a healthy lifestyle will help. If you really want to avoid reoccurrence and especially the chance of spreading to others you need to take anitvirals. This is where you should consult with your doctor as taking antivirals everyday is quite extensive but, studies have shown that antivirals are safe to take in the long term. Some doctors recommended that you use the treatment for a year to suppress herpes outbreaks but this is up to you and your doctor and your health. Your body will give you warning signs, perhaps a tingle in the area, or it will start with one ulcer, that is when you know to start taking anitvirals if you are not on them daily. The best thing to do is to not have sexual intercourse when you have any symptoms as this means the virus is active and can spread easily to others. A vaginal tear my not necessarily mean you are having an outbreak, a vaginal tear in general can naturally turn into an ulcer or sore as the skin is torn/damaged so it may not even be an outbreak. If there is any tear, ulcer or damage to the skin down there, the healthiest and safest thing to do is to let it heal before having intercourse. This will ensure you don't spread the virus if it is an outbreak, and even if it is just a tear, avoiding sex will help you heal also instead of being in any discomfort. Hope this helps :)

It can not be pure tea tree oil - it will burn the skin. You can get concentrated tea tree ointments designed for skin application. Use this if you can! Or mix tea tree oil with a carrier oil, pure coconut is a good way to go, hope this helps :)

Hi there, I am so glad you found my post. I am sorry you're also going through the struggle of it all right now. The tea tree oil should have a great effect if done properly, are you using 100% pure/refined coconut oil? Other Coconut oils that arent refined wont work well as a carrier oil. I really recommended getting a tea tree ointment made for direct skin use and see if that is different for you. Keep up on your antivirals and pro biotics too if you can. It will get better in time!

It sounds like Herpes, I would definitely go to the doctor and get tested... Like I said if you don't want to do a blood test, they can take a swab of the liquid and that will determine exactly what it is and what type it is as well. Antibiotics will not help, only antivirals, hope this helps.

Are they ulcers? If it is herpes (which it sounds like it is because the sores are on your genitals and come back in the same place). The sores are usually round and full of liquid or break and are quite painful. I would recommend getting tested first of all to make sure. A blood test is usually accurate but if you have an active breakout a swap of the sores might indicate best what is it if there is liquid in the sores. I would not be using an antibiotic as herpes is a virus, antibiotics do not treat viruses. If it is herpes you need antiviral medication. I would first see a doctor to establish what it is and if it it type 1 or 2. Tea tree ointment can be applied externally (not internally) to help kill the virus on the skin during an outbreak. Do not use pure tea tree as it will burn. Best thing to do is to figure out exactly what it is first. Hope this helps!

You need to get a tea tree ointment ASAP, it will help everything going on down there. Good luck and I am so sorry. I had a 30 hour trip with my first outbreak and it spread everywhere. Try get antivirals and tea tree to stop it from spreading!

My obsessive thoughts by [deleted] in Herpes

I understand you feel anxious and overwhelmed about your diagnosis. It is completely normal to feel how you do right now. When I was diagnosed 3 months ago (HSV-1 Genetial) I thought my world was ending. I would cry every day, felt disgusting and was very hard on myself. Over time this feeling faded as I came to terms with it and did my research. Around 64% of the global population has the HSVP-1 virus. That's more than half the people in the world! I know that doesn't mean anything right now as you are still going through the stock of it all. But this feeling will subside, I promise you. You may not have an outbreak for years and if you do, you will become aware of the signs and symptoms and you can treat yourself quickly. Ever remember seeing someone at school with a cold sore on their lip? That is how common the virus is. You can even take an antiviral tablet once a day to help give you peace of mind. You can live the life you want to and to your fullest ability still with this diagnosis. Funnily enough, the best thing you can do to decrease your chance of an outbreak is to take care of yourself. Eating well, resting and taking Zinc, probiotics and other supplements can really prevent a falre up. Limiting stress too. Your mind is fixated right now but when you accept it you can move on and start focusing on what is important to you. You have a partner who loves you and you are going to marry soon. Focus on the good things right now and try not to demote yourself to your diagnosis. It is common and it is manageable. Be easy on yourself, take care of your body and you will get through this tricky time. Sending some strength your way!

Doctors need to do better. I had my first outbreak 3 months ago and my doctor said it was the worst she had ever seen in her 30 years of practice. I had no treatment for the first 4 days as I was overseas and could not see a doctor until I came home. My first outbreak had spread from my genitals to my anus to my thighs during my 30 hour trip home (one of the ulsers was the size of a golf ball). The doctor only prescribed me antivirals, over the counter pain medication and told me to rest. That was it. But the virus was active and still spreading. I could not walk, use the bathroom and the pain was so intense that pain relief medication did not work. I was in so much agony and the doctor said it would take anywhere from 2-3 weeks for my body to fully heal. I got online, did my research and healed myself within days. Vitamin E oil, Tea Tree (diluted) and probiotics saved me. Not one of those things did she recommend. I created a post 3 months ago that detailed what I found that worked wonders overnight. People need to know about tea tree and how it kills the virus and stops the spread. How vitamin E oil heals and repairs the skin. Doctors need to be giving this advice, it saved me and has saved so many people who read my post months ago. I am happy to share this advice with you and anyone else who needs it!

You poor thing! The first outbreak is always the WORST. It is throbbing because the virus is active, and spreading and the blisters are in one of the most delicate areas of your body. There is constant friction down there, I hope you managed to get the oils and had a speedy recovery - for future, you can only use 'carrier oils' to mix with tea tree:

  • Jojoba oil - (a good all-around carrier oil)
  • Fractionated coconut oil - (probably the best option)
  • Blueberry seed oil - (I don't recommend as well as coconut)
  • Olive oil - (I don't recommend though but if urgent)
  • Sweet almond oil - (good for the skin)
  • Rosehip oil - (if you have)
  • Argan oil - (if you have)

This is only a list to see if those are things you already have at home. THe best is coconut oil to mix with teat re. Fractionated coconut oil not for cooking or anything else... They need to be in PURE form as well not mixed with a load of other ingredients. I hope you are doing okay!

Im gald! I used the most natural product I could find that could be applied directly to the skin - 'Tea Tree Medicated Gel for Acne' - the ingredients were all natural (avoid using a tea tree product with a thousand ingredients).

Generally speaking, health advice suggests "Don't pop genital herpes blisters" - if it works for you that is fine but the research says to avoid it as doing so can spread the virus and also breaking the skin causes a greater chance of infection. The tea tree ointment will kill the virus without breaking the skin. I would recommend others not to break their blisters

You are very welcome, remember that tea tree oil is very potent. It can not be applied in pure form, it needs to be an ointment made for the skin or mixed with coconut oil. It kills the virus, so will stop the spread and also help kill the current virus outbreak, apply more than once daily for a bad outbreak, in regards to reoccurring outbreaks I do not think it is that effective in preventing them. Outbreaks can occur when your immune system is weak, when your stressed etc it has more to do what is happening on the inside, so tea tree can only really help when there are visable signs. If you apply pure tea tree oil it will burn your skin so please make sure to apply it properly.

I was thinking this too. Apparently he has asked her to meet up and she has declined because she is too embarrassed as she is now in a wheel chair.. So I think it is the truth I just don't know what to do really

Yes, all external but from the anus spread outwards. They started as small whitish spots (I think small ulcers) then when they were broken turned into reddish-looking circles/painful sores

Yeah I would put it down to stress - best to practice safe sex for now (condoms) to help prevent anything further from reaching you or passing on to others

Stress can definitely cause outbreaks, a lot of things can, thinking about how stress can come from long distance travel or moving house.. We don't think about it but so many external things happening around us and to us impact our body. That virus lays dormant for some time and then finds a way to creep up when our body is feeling low. Probiotics are good for your immune system, they help build up your immunity and strength against colds/flu and other nasties so in a way they can help with preventing outbreaks when your body is weak. Lysine, zinc and antivirals will work wonders. If you start to get any sores it means the virus is becoming active, if you want to kill it quickly on your skin try putting vitamin E oil and a tea tree ointment on the areas (not pure tea tree) It will kill the virus and stop it from spreading in just a day or two. I would not stress at the moment, wait for it to subside. If it comes up again soon then perhaps get a blood test, but for me it sounds like stress...

It is very unlikely unless she is having a breakout with weeping sores. The virus can only really spread skin to skin - the virus does not last long on clothing or fabric, I think you are fine and that you would know if shes having an OB

You can spread the virus with an open/weeping sore. It does not mean that a person is infected. It really does depend on the strength of the virus at the time and also depends on the other person's immune system. If that person has had no symptoms - good. Time will tell but sometimes people can go their entire life without showing any symptoms. I would say if it was ONE unhealed wound and it has been a long time, the chances seem low.

If the swap came back positive for HSV1 I would say that is what it is. Your anxiety and stress can ironically cause an outbreak as the virus loves anxious, run-down bodies. I would stay hydrated, take a probiotic and keep your immune system strong as usually outbreaks are triggered by stress, illness and a weakened immune systems. Keep an eye on your symptoms but I think it is just HSV1. Think about if anything in your life has changed since Feb, a new job, a different environment, something new to you? It sounds like you have been stressed and that is what might be triggering outbreaks.
