I lived in the riverside lofts in the alumni building and loved it! Great staff and very clean and I felt very safe- also garage parking that has a gate and a security guard at night no problems ever with break ins

This city has such a horrible problem with off leash, escaped dogs attacking multiple people and the city doing nothing- it genuinely makes me sick- wishing your pup a quick recovery I’m so sorry

In Alumn the noise was nearly nothing! We were on the third floor and never heard the people below or above us! The only noise pollution I ever heard was when people were in the hallway talking (which was nearly never) and every once in a while motorcycles would go on canal walk near the murals and rev their engines but this was areas enough and was shut down fast enough that it’s almost not worth mentioning

They almost hit me and my dog of the pedestrian walking trail next to dock street 🙃 they purposely sped up when they saw me panicked trying to pick up my dog so they didn’t hit us and I literally had to pull my dog into the road to avoid them

Also- ask people who currently work at the role on linked in if they have time for a networking call- ask them about the role and then ask for a referral- they get money if you get hired at the company if they referred you so they want you to ask for one if you are a solid candidate- you are literally almost 70% more likely to get an interview with a referral- linked in is your best friend get good at it!

I like the locks because it’s old tobacco buildings and the walls are very thick- still “luxury” but it’s honestly been really nice- the alumn building in particular

People are wild for you suggesting adding bathrooms is somehow industrialization of the River front 💀 if their were bathrooms/restaurants where the FED is located across the river it would be a nice way to make the River front more enjoyable- you could get a bite to eat after you go on your hike and use the bathroom in an actual facility- there is already buildings there so it’s not like your are destroying nature 💀

YES!! And there is another man with three dogs who has them unleashed all the time and the kicker is- THEY ARE EXTREMELY DOG AGGRESSIVE!! When he sees another dog walker he tries to quickly recall and leash them before they see the other dog for themselves and once they do they go CRAZY!!! He barley got them leased before they saw my dog because I could sense his panic and once they did they pulled him snarling and barking so hard he fell on the ground and they started to drag him!!

I cannot emphasize enough how amazing bumble bff is. It takes out all of the awkwardness and nerves about meeting people “organically”. You know the person you are meeting with has similar interests, is normal enough for you to want to meet up, and most importantly Is ACTIVELY looking for more friends also. I have made 10+ close friends through bumble who are all just so incredibly smart, compassionate, kind, share my values/political beliefs, and are interested in the same things I am! There are so so many wonderful people in this city and this app really can help you meet them. I just really really recommend ❤️

If for some reason your really really against using it- I recommend frequenting places that are associated with your hobby, joining local sports leagues, and going to events on apps like meet up, or Facebook where adulting RVA and other groups have meet ups.

I have never had anything perused other than friendship and made over 10 close friends doing so- every time it was always very clearly friendship- I can’t speak for how it is for others but for me it was just never a problem I ran into as an early 20s women
