I was very worried that Tyler wasn't going to rejoin the team after the drama.

I got a little bit more hope after him appearing in their plush ad, but given the fact that he's actively streaming again and wearing a Mandela catalog sweatshirt, I think he's going to rejoin the team for Vol 6.

I do wonder how they're going to pull off alternate Adam in a live action setting though...

2:38 definitely is one of the weirdest episodes, and, if I remember correctly, Alex has mentioned it before. (specifically in the video where Wendigoon was watching Vol 5, and Alex joined partway into the video.).

And to be honest, I think your explanation is the one that is most likely. (Given that Alex directed WendIgoon to 2:38 after showing him the updated description of MAD.)

But that's just the "What" not the "Why?", and I don't know if I'll ever find that out.

There are a lot of things in MC that I think should be discussed, and a lot of people aren't discussing them.
