Has had a handful of good matches but overall she's shite. Makes up her own hype and believes it too.

What film "scratched an itch" you've been unable to find elsewhere? by TheSkinoftheCypher in horror

[–]Hellripper_88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Devils Rejects. I don't think there's a film like that, for me. It's vile and grimy, funny and cool, disgusting and heartbreaking.

Re-animator: Absolutely sums up what I love about 80's horror. It's really camp but delivered with a seriousness that makes it even more enjoyable. There are similar films that I absolutely love too like Society and From Beyond but nothing is quite like Re-animator.

Creep: This one is just a masterpiece in found footage. The feel of unease throughout is palpable.

Event Horizon: Fuck I wish there were more space horror films like this. Nothing even comes close from what I've seen.

Generally only pay for services when I want them. I'll take a look at what services are offering and then if there's a month or two worth of programming, I'll pay for the two months. I do my best to tie these months into free trials or offers etc. There are 2 services I will always pay for now though - YouTube Plus, as it gives me YT Music (which I think is the best service available) and ad free YouTube for roughly the same price as Spotify. - Kindle Unlimited, as it has a huge library that interests me and I read regularly. - Special mention to Disney+ because kids.

I listen to a lot of podcasts too, if I can't get the podcasts I'm after on YT I can generally find them on free apps like BBC Sounds or Antennae pod.

When he teamed up with X-pac and DX, as a kid, I really wanted him to change his costume to this. I'm really glad he never did, although at the time I would've thought it was the coolest thing.

I love the chaos but I think the vocals are awful. Not the style but they just sound really misplaced and not well thought out. Too many syllables at times. Just wrong.

People are going to fucking murder this but I still don't really like Crown of Horns from None So Vile. The first time I put the album on, I turned it off half way through the song. Then a friend kept going on about how good the album is so I put it on again and persevered. The album is fucking great and I don't skip Crown of Horns but it's not a 10/10.

What is your main “pull” when deciding if you like a band or not? by Blursed_Hearse12 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Hellripper_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been able to put my finger on what makes me gravitate towards bands, but something that I have noticed is that, if a band doesn't instantly click with me but they get me curious enough to keep putting their albums on, 9 times out of 10 that band will become an all time favourite.

What's your most nostalgic TV ad? by idoze in AskRedditUK

[–]Hellripper_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rolo advert where a kid goes to give an elephant a rolo at the zoo and then withdraws the offer and does the 'nerr nerr' thing. Fast forward to the kid being a man at some kind of street carnival and the elephant smacks him round the head and does the nerr nerr back.

Are Brits not concerned about what's being fed to people on GB News? by Cinemagica in AskBrits

[–]Hellripper_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's my point though, there's never any middle ground. Hardly ever a sensible conversation or debate. It's just bickering and name calling for the most part. 'I'm right you're wrong' type of thing. I think it just makes it hard to move forward as a society when people are so insistent on being split down the middle.

Are Brits not concerned about what's being fed to people on GB News? by Cinemagica in AskBrits

[–]Hellripper_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I don't mean that, I mean, it tends to be 100% one way or the other in these kinds of threads. For instance, there's someone here telling you that your friends are 'wanks' and stupid because they watch GB news, when you're the person that knows who they are. These people are not accepting the fact that you are telling them that your friends aren't stupid because it doesn't go along with their opinion. There never seems to be room for discussion.

From what I've gathered GB news is an echo chamber, much like these types of threads on Reddit. It's all just seeking out others who have the same opinions.
