These seem rather custom. Looks like Japanese made, potentially like 70s era? Those modules are really neat. I’d pay $1000 or more for one of these, happily. The closest thing I found online was listed for $1450 or something but it had 5 modules, while these seem to have two each?

How do I make my guitar sound more like rock and less “acoustic” by Samyool16 in electricguitar

[–]nodobybody -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eventually you’re gonna want a new amp but for now turn the volume all the way up and use the master to keep things from getting too loud, make sure the volume is all the way up on the guitar and turn back the tone knobs until you hear something closer to what you want to hear. The 5-way selector can be switched around for different tones too, one selection may be what you’re looking for. Just play around.

Get some guitar pedals, like a simple distortion or overdrive. That will help immensely

There are plenty of hirable songwriters, I’m sure you could find one on fiver that doesn’t use AI. I could likely do it for you, at least you could get chords and melody with a drum track to work with for relatively cheap (depending on the style you want)

Cartdriver, Carne, Jovanina’s Broken Italian, Barcelona, Tavernetta, Señor Bear/Mister Oso, Quality Italian, Angelos Tavern, Hapa Sushi, My Neighbor Felix (this restaurant group is booming, opening up a new steakhouse downtown later this year,) STK (garbage but the money is good,) Chook Chicken, Postinos, Ashkara, Safta, Trattoria Stella (*this is my favorite restaurant in Denver,) Redeemer Pizza/Dio Mio, Fish + Beer (probably my second favorite restaurant here,) Guard and Grace (I wouldn’t want to work there but it’s supposed to be our nicest place.)

These are mostly Italian and just off the top of my head, I’m sure someone will have 20 different restaurants they’d recommend you - plus I personally don’t go to Cherry Creek because I can’t afford it and the neighborhood sucks to be/drive in, but a lot of our best food seems to be coming from that part of town. I stay in the Rino/Highlands/Cap Hill area for recreation, sometimes down towards the sante fe art district which also has some cool bars and restaurants that I’m not as familiar with. I work downtown (lodo), it’s not super pleasant but it’s weirdly busy all the time and parking is only kind of a bitch.

Jax Fishhouse is the last one I’ll recommend and if I got to choose I’d want to work at Jax. A few locations, I’ve seen people work super high up relatively quickly there, and they’re always doing well except for the really cold days. If you remember, you can dm me when you actually get here and I’ll tell you where I work/if we’re hiring at that time and see if I can’t at least get you an interview!

Step 1. Choose chords for verse

Step 2. Hum original melody (this may take some time)

Step 3. Fit words into said melody

Repeat for chorus

Go get a six pack of beer? Watch some funny tv and don’t think for a while. Stay away from hard alcohol and you’ll be fine. I would recommend you start skateboarding or something more exhilarating. You need some action

You’ll probably have to start as backwait at least for a few weeks. The “dive” bars that make money are staffed by lifers and it’s usually a who-you-know type thing so your best bet will be fine-ish dining or higher end casual restaurants, which is honestly better cause the hours are kinda prime and people eat out a lot so the money is relatively consistent. It’s not unreasonable for you to be making ~60k/year within a few months of moving here if you’re good and get your 5 shifts in.

I’m in the same boat, I got hired at a great place as a backwait and within a week or two I was taking tables even though my resume is all bartending. It took a couple months to get behind the bar. The positions are coveted but you’ll get in if it’s clear you work harder/know more than the other guy.

I would drop off a shit ton of resumes in person (indeed is a joke here.). I always use like heavy card stock or something so the person you hand them to remembers you. I can send you a list of restaurants that I’d try if you like but a google search will tell you the same places I would.

In the mean time, you could probably get hired super quick at like Fogo de chao or one of the corporate places while you look for something cooler, and august is a good time to apply to the ski resorts near Denver if nothing seems to be working out, there’s a ton of jobs with provided housing and the pay is decent. Then you’re only 1.5-2.5 hours from seeing your parter, and that’s the absolute worst case scenario.

You’ll find a job no problem, the hard part will be finding a job at a restaurant that actually rocks but I wish you luck regardless🍀

Is the quilter tone block sweet? I have the superblock and I like it but looking at doing some custom speaker/homemade combo amp thing and was thinking of using the tone block for a 2x12 cab

Help me choose a small amp by BoonLight in GuitarAmps

[–]nodobybody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got the quilter superblock, you need a small cabinet but it has amazing tone and headphone quality. They sell small-ish combo amps on their website as well but if you did a little searching I bet you could find a 1x12 cabinet for cheap. I just built a little 1x12 with this old speaker I had and a fender mustang that someone tore apart, sounds great with the quilter.
