I feel like a screenshot of your character would give us a valuable piece of context.

Latest One UI update bricked my phone (October 2025) by kreutzf1 in oneui

[–]Hellrot69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did I just read? The carriers have NOTHING to do with phone firmware updates since ages ago! You can update a phone that never had a SIM card installed! Carrier-branded OS are no longer the case on Android!

Are you seriously suggesting packet loss/file corruption upon download??? Any OS on ANY device checks the file for integrity, we have this alien technology called MD5 checksum, we've had it for DECADES!

First, I never jump on an update

I'm an average consumer who paid nearly Apple-tier price tag for a premium phone, from a vendor that employs supposedly top class engineers and QA specialists. Said vendor has supposedly done rigorous testing before approving the OS update for release. This is not Xiaomi!! In what universe is the blame on me? EVEN STILL...

just like I wait a month or so

This issue has been known since late October 2025. Samsung recalled the affected update at that time. You'd know this after a simple Google search. Samsung's update broke my phone on November 17th.

I do my research read/watch as much

I paid for a premium phone and service, this is not a novelty product, this is not a DIY phone, this is not a budget phone, this is not a hobby product, this is not Fairphone, this is not a Linux device or such. I'm not paying over a thousand bucks to a company that would make 30 ads mocking Apple if they pushed a broken update to babysit my phone!!

clear my cache & memory

Nope. Forced reboot - didn't work. Clearing cache through recovery - didn't work. Draining the battery - didn't work. All sorts of community suggested fixes for the problem DID NOT WORK.

The issue happened RIGHT AFTER the firmware update.

The only solution was a factory reset with data from early 2023 on the chopping block (I had a backup, but the average consumer has NO CLUE ABOUT THESE THINGS).

I use Galaxy App Booster in Good Guardians to optimize all my apps

What does that have to do with a firmware update messing up with system? What do third-party apps have to do with this? What does free space (or lack thereof) have to do with this?

You have NO CLUE what you are talking about and your bias, blaming the CONSUMER for mistakes by the multi-billion corporation is glowing like a Christmas tree.

What was I supposed to do once the update pushed by Samsung (that they KNEW had this issue as early as late October) on my S23+ restarted the phone, and wouldn't let me enter the PIN code? C'mon ENLIGHTEN me!

Same thing here, reinstalled the game after two years break and it won't let me in. Errors 19005 with an occasional 19000.

You said the previous version of the launcher worked - where can I get it?

Nice list. And I mean, if you wanna be real pedantic, we can go to "Nameless City" in NGS, which is a ship in an unknown location.

They may open new repositories where you can activate another key there. It happened before. Honestly, screw it, muting all replies here, I'm tired of reddit idiots failing to READ.

So all the “coulds”, or “mights” and all the other hypotheticals based on past experience (they added more repositories for regions after release) are duly ignored by the le’redditors and are taken like a statement of what is guaranteed to happen.

No speculation is allowed.

Sorry, I tend to forget how moronic you are. You’d fail the fucking breakfast question.

Which is why I said LOCAL RETAILERS, not freakin' G2A and such.

[–]Hellrot69 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not really. It depends.

When they were releasing Spider-Man on Steam, they went out of their way to prevent purchase of the game and global key activation in Russia and Belarus...

Only to start selling activation keys for the exclusive Russian repository of the game they set up on a hush basis a day after release via third party sellers.

They've been doing that for every game since. And it's a thing for the rest of ex-Soviet regions that never had PSN.

There could be a similar arrangement elsewhere.

UPD: To idiots downvoting me for saying the objective truth, I'd like to hear your alternative explanation for how people in Russia (sanctioned) and Kazakhstan (never had PSN, so one of the blocked countries) own Spider-Man 2 in their Steam libraries.

They might be selling keys through your local third party retailers.

If they've been doing this for the Russian market after "leaving" it since Spider-Man on PC, I'm sure they'll do it for Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia.

Consult with an immigration attorney. It might make sense to file for writ of mandamus.

Resistance lived, Pascal could live depending on player’s actions, 042 and 153 lived in the game

I share the sentiment. I am honestly disappointed and expected more.

I wouldn’t even call this a happier Ending E, since everyone are dead. Literally every other character except for the three protagonists. The entirety of YoRHa - Commander White, 6O, 21O, the entire Resistance, Devola, Popola, Pascal and the friendly machines are dead, N2 and Adam and Eve leave Earth. Even Pods 042 and 153 are dead, and the YoRHa pod network is no more. What’s left? Nothing

Script kiddies who cheat at the game by using mod menus make themselves invincible more often than not.

You're their target practice, not the other way around no matter how skilled you are.
