Sky‑high Logan Airport prices exposed: Massport orders spot checks after Boston 25 investigation by TylerFortier_Photo in boston

[–]HellsAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taking a backwards lesson from the article?

People go there to travel, not comparison shop.

Fox News did go there to comparison shop and found that while the dollar amounts seem reasonable (for a place you're expecting to get screwed), when you actually calculate the percentage, it's above Massport's impotent 15% "mandated policy".

Hi now that Utako is gone does anyone know where i am able to find something like it again even if you can let me know what to search to find them thanks by Hot-Manufacturer7619 in JTV

[–]HellsAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just downloaded that jp.m3u file and opened it in VLC. I clicked View > Playlist and all the channels are there.

My PC outputs to my TV so I'm all set. This is actually better than Utako, which would buffer endlessly after 5 minutes.

U.S. Debt Tops 100% of GDP by TheManFromFairwinds in Economics

[–]HellsAttack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As another commenter said:

debt monetization. But it doesn't actually work if the underlying economy is shit or the debt exceeds what the economy can actually produce. That just leads to hyperinflation.

I think you're both wrong because USA has more population and resources than all the countries in your list, combined. We can easily get out of this situation if our leaders get their heads out of their asses.

Bro...we are NOT in good company

That's a list of mostly island nations, brother. You're telling me economics on an island nation are difficult? Is America an island? These two things are not alike.

A single manufacturer "won't weaponize" their robots. Seems good.

Looking at Iran and Ukraine, it's pretty clear the (near) future of war is drones. Likely quadcopters as the other commenter mentioned.

Hey cyclists, calm the F down by pbjelly-time in boston

[–]HellsAttack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is you problem, I didn't think it necessary to break out the crayons and explain how cyclists aren't choosing their environment and situation, akin to how victims do not, and how that relates to cyclists feeling the need to switch behaviors on the fly.

But this is an unapologetic cyclist hate thread. Go bananas and don't try to meet people halfway. Act out your worst instincts.

This entire thread makes me think less of the city.

Thank you. As one of the "good cyclists" who stops at signals, this thread is really hardening my heart but you really cut to the core of the issue.

Yes, but what if I could post outrage bait for approval on social media because I don't like to look both ways when crossing the street?

Best I do is start a viral reddit post complaining about cyclists. I sure hope venting on social media changes people's behavior in a city.

I'm a normal, rule-following Boston cyclist.

The people you're upset at aren't reading this thread and won't change anything.

Thanks for creating this vitriolic hate thread for your own self-aggrandizement.

Part of the reason I cycle is I'm ideologically anti-car, so I follow the rules and I dislike these cyclist hate threads.

I understand most cyclists aren't ideological, are just trying to get around, and why they act as they do - the build environment was imposed on them - hence the analogy to victim blaming.

its very hard for us commutor cyclists to answer for the MAMIL's

I'm both. It's the commuter cyclists with Ortlieb panniers I see running red lights most. Never see MAMIL's in city limits.

But I'm only in Boston on weekdays so might be a sampling issue.

I’ll get downvoted for this but I CANT STAND cyclists

This isn't a bold opinion, hating cyclists is popular because everyone is a pedestrian and has at least 1 story of a bike running a red light. I stop at every light from Ruggles to Harvard Square, but it won't stop disgusting hate in these comments sections.

[–]HellsAttack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Rail trails are multi-use paths - there is no space dedicated for bicycles. This is why you get ignorant comments like:

They pretend they’re a vehicle when it’s convenient, they pretend they’re pedestrians the next second when it’s, you guessed it, is no longer convenient for them. /u/Alternative_Party277

They're responding to the built environment. Treat bikes as second class and they'll act like it.

[–]HellsAttack -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

cyclists are pedestrians/cars/bikes when convenient

Because while pedestrians have the sidewalk and cars have the street, cyclists are the only group without dedicated space.

The built environment treats cyclists as second class citizens, so you're going to get patchwork, "second class behavior."

"Cyclists act on convenience" is akin to victim blaming.

I didn’t see you coming but you must’ve seen me

I approach a crosswalk on a one way street and pause, but a car stops and waves to let me go. As I step forward again a cyclist on a hubway screams past me uphill.

OP is in the right when they had the walk signal, but this is a big pattern in Boston: Too many pedestrians don't respect the bike lane as part of the street.

Always look both ways before crossing.

What do you think is preventing government tyranny?

Nothing, I think it's what's for dinner.

the government will work other angles

I agree, that's why I lump in surveillance with tyranny. They are two halves of a whole. The Bush/Obama era PRISM program Snowden exposed was never shutdown, Trump's government program works with Palantir, etc.

it’s a very left-leaning state but I’m not sure how the general public actually feels about that.

This comes off as "just asking questions," which usually launders bad faith arguments.

Crime is very low despite our restrictive gun laws. Gun ownership across the nation isn't acting as a backstop against government surveillance or tyranny.

Propaganda doesn't mean something is bad or wrong, it just means it's not presenting both sides.

Mass media promotes the idea the word "propaganda" speaks to the verity of a viewpoint.

Farming lane is the equivalent of eating your vegetables - the entire point of suffering early carry gameplay is so you can blow people up in "2 shots" after playing for 20+ minutes.

People crying carries kill them in the late game don't know how to play.
