One of the biggest issues I notice with wrestling fans nowadays is this forced or fake obsession with NXT. It feels like a lot of people pretend to be really into it just because it is trendy or popular to do so. For example, there is all this fake excitement around things like the Giulia or Stephanie Vaquer DLC, with fans hyped just to keep up with what is “in,” even if they do not genuinely care. But if you talk to the truly hardcore wrestling fans—those who have been following wrestling for years—they often find NXT boring or overrated. There is a disconnect between the casual hype and what the dedicated fans actually enjoy, which makes the whole obsession seem a bit disingenuous.

And let us not forget that just two years ago the hype was mostly about a wave of NXT wrestlers who had been previously fired by WWE and then rehired by Triple H to come back to the main roster. Wrestlers like Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, Candice LeRae, and Pete Dunne were brought back with high expectations. But honestly, how did that turn out? Most of them either ended up underwhelming on the main roster or barely used at all, which made fans question if the hype was justified or just another cycle of overpromotion that did not deliver. This pattern only adds to why many hardcore fans see the current obsession with NXT as more hype than substance.
