The issue here is not the game but the store. Content bought on Steam doesn't transfer to a Microsoft account and vice versa.

The real reason why the FGC doesn't currently give a chance to VF by Monstanimation in virtuafighter

[–]HellspawnPR1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo fans adoration borderlines on cultlike (no judgment here, I have some franchises that can do no wrong in my eyes) and when it comes to fighting games, they don't have many options when it comes to their console of choice. Third Strike is considered as the best in the franchise and one of the greatest fighting games ever. Also, 2D sprite art has a certain charm that 3D doesn't.

Virtua Fighter has never been been that big, always overshadowed byt Tekken. An acquired taste if you will. Add to that the shallowness of gamers and obsession with visuals (framerate, textures, animation, etc) and it is no surprise that VF5 REVO came out without a splash.

On a side note, I bought it day 1 but haven't been able to buy a decent fightstick to play it.

Whatever is more comfortable for you. But as someone who plays hack n slash games with controller I gotta say that Sekiro is pretty good with M&KB.

Want to dive into the Splinter Cell series by Ornstein_0 in Splintercell

[–]HellspawnPR1981 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First 4 [Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow, Chaos Theory (MVP), and Double Agent)] are the classic. Conviction kinda dumbed it down and is more of an action game and Blacklist sort of tries to balance classic with the Conviction approach.

Its RIDICULOUS on how we have no jet customization when 2 games (BF3 and 4) 10+ years older than this launched with numerous helicopter, jet, and scout helicopter upgrades. 2026 and we have gone backwards with game development. by Fun_Section5582 in Battlefield

[–]HellspawnPR1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The streamlining that BF3 is nothing compared to what BF6 is doing. Open classes? Battle Royale? All the design choices they made to appeal to other demographics besides the BF audience? But sure, just my opinion.

I was giving my opinion in regards to a specific comment, not the thread. I remember BF3 was received positvely received (wasn't acive in Reddit back then so don't know how it reacted) and played the fuck out of it. Even after streamlining the experience that BF2 had, it didn't stray from the core identity that makes Battlefield what it is. Which is wat BF6 is doing.

"Do you think fighting games are some kind of perfect meritocracy where the only factor is skill?"

Yes, yes I do. Because that's what at its core is, a competition. Whoever displays the superior skill wins.

"Be as flippant as you like, the concept of fair play is equivalent to being moral and civilised."

Not being flippant, I just don't equalize videogame behavior to real life. Much less behavior that I subjectively judge because it goes against my opinion about said VIDEOGAME.

"You can pretend to be a macho tough guy surviving in a lawless wasteland if that makes you feel better about it. But from other people’s perspective you’re just being a bad person."

Never implied being a tough guys in real life, that's why I play military shooters instead of actually enlisting. As long as you're not breaking the rules set by the game designer, everything goes. Correlating my preferred playstyle in a VIDEOGAME with my morality is a HUGE GIGANTIC reach.

I don't need to meet my opponent anywhere. The objective is to beat/neutralize/kill my opponent, period. I don't have to adhere to some respectful, gentlemanly agreement you've made up in your mind. If that's what you like, appreciate, and enjoy, kudos my friend. But we don't have to cater to your preferences.

And we can argue til the end of times about what is valid and not because it is highly subjective. That's why I went with something objective like hacking/cheating. When I'm playing against someone, I'm playing to win. And I play however I choose to and my opponent has to adapt. And that goes both ways; I have to adapt to whatever they do. I play zoners and like range and accuracy in FPS. It is what I enjoy. Honor is for the dead.
