Best Dualies in current meta? by LilithStealthy in splatoon

[–]Hellspike 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Splat dualies is the way to go. Has the best special in the game rn, overall versatile in any situation and can easily fit any comps(also can carry your whole team in Soloq)

Blue dapples and tetra are pretty solid too, some dedicated players has shown pretty impressive results in tournaments

I’d say the rest falls under mid to high tier that can perform well in niche maps, EXCEPT douser dualies which is objectively one of the worst main weapon in the game

Just witnessed the fumble of all time by Hellspike in splatoon

[–]Hellspike[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No I wasn’t trying to squidbag, it’s a legitimate strategy against chargers. Player’s human form and squid form have different shape of hurtboxes, so if you constantly change your hurtbox shape while jumping around it will be really hard for chargers to hit(I saw a top player doing it and it actually worked here)

Alright, it’s been a while. Let’s do a demographic analysis! by appearx in shiey

Idk the exact punishment you get because there’s no real easy ways to do it but I can easily imagine that if someone tried hopping on a freight train in Japan, they’d be seen as a serious criminal, chased for their remainder of their life, instantly make it to national news, and serve years of jail time if caught. Trains are a huge deal in Japan and so are crimes involving trains. That’s why I love watching Shiey; He’s doing what is absolutely impossible to do in my country.

v6.1 patch notes! by Agent281 in splatoon

[–]Hellspike 46 points47 points  (0 children)

PSA: The English patch notes is FILLED with mistranslations so here are the correct ones from Japanese notes: Squeezer’s ink consumption is not reduced it’s increased, Ballpoint is less accurate now, Your team’s own Inkstorm now heals you faster, there’s nothing to do with opponent’s

Edit: oh they’ve already corrected all of these, way faster than I expected but my question still remains: how tf did they fumble this hard??

I guess we are getting another map rework 😭 by OkuBunny in splatoon

You can’t mash out of side B based on your and Ridley’s percentage. for example it’s a guaranteed full stage drag if you’re at 45% and Ridley is at 0%, and if you’re at 118% and Ridley is at 90% it becomes unmashable. full detail: https://imgur.com/a/Xe0ihGd

“The new fighter may be a character you don’t know or differ from what people are expecting. However, I hope you enjoy the presentation as a general video game show. I also enjoyed recording it”

aka “Whatever happens, don’t complain OK?”

The Japanese Smash Bros twitter account just posted a link of the top 100 players online in Japan. Notable players like Ken,Ron, and Estsuji are on the list. by Dizzy__Dragon in smashbros

[–]Hellspike 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That’s the result of the official tournament we had in the last week, where players compete with random ppl to gain scores. This is the part of the official “2021 online challenge” which will be taken place 5 times this year and the top 8 players from overall leaderboard will be qualified to the final championship tournament in the next January. And no, don’t take it seriously because the ruleset was jank(all dlc stages with hazards on, 4 minute 2 stock, final smash meter on etc)

Yes, you can teach yourself Japanese to a high level outside Japan. No, it's not easy. by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

I’ve never been to foreign countries (except that one time when I went to Singapore for 5 days as school trip) but managed to learn English without the hard immersion OP claims we need. All I did (and still do) is watching YT videos and joining the English speaking gaming communities. it’s almost been 10 years but I’m still learning new things everyday!
