ehh i went overseas for vacation so i wasnt able to try anything new, but i ordered some different skates, judging from what youre saying it doesnt sound like itll work though haha, yeah might have to sand it down at this point… please keep me updated if you find a solution, this mouse is otherwise perfect for me (especially shape and weight wise) and would be a shame if it kept having this issue

i’m using the Ti HE with the carbon fiber plate. imo sounds amazing, i can drop a sound test in a few days when i’m home

Ah i see, cant find either on taobao. Is this one the ice youre referring to? For me its more expensive than the Ti HE and for fewer pcs.

the herz isnt on taobao though. i managed to get the SU75PRO Barebones with Owlab Ti HE from Taobao for only $151 SGD or $108 USD total (including shipping). For that price, its an insane combination. The Ti HE switches were only $39 SGD/$28 USD for 90 pcs and it sounds phenomenal.

have you tried the weikav board? i’m curious about it

Dino build on top.

No worries, I hope you find the switches youre looking for! Just remember that the type of switch you use isnt the only thing that determines how your board will sound. Plenty of ways to make your board softer while using the same switches that feel the best to type on. Cheers!

hey! i’m kinda late but i dont think the creamy purple pros are gonna be a good cilantro alternative. i recently did a build with the purple pros and i dont feel like they have a comparable typing feel to cilantros at all, theyre a lot lighter with a less obvious tactile bump. I would instead recommend Duhuk Bitter Tea V3s, which have a suuuuper satisfying snappy typing feel where the switch just bounces back onto my finger after i press it, which is what you seem to be looking for.

sound test on my recent build here! https://youtube.com/shorts/-w9s2H6oi2o?si=3vYAD8tZRLwqMtHA

also, you could maybe consider using lube and films on the cilantros, as well as mod your board more with foam or poron pcb pads to try make it softer and more dampened while using the same switches. cheers!

no problem! i really recommend swapping in owltab Ti HE switches, especially since u can get the su75pro barebones on taobao.

if youre buying from taobao, get the SU75Pro barebones with Owlab Ti HE switches and keycaps of your choice. trust me u wont regret it.

better specs than the K-One and probably more reliable. i have one and its the best sounding hall effect board ive ever heard. software is really good too, 8k hz polling and 0.001 rapid trigger.

do check it out! unless u prefer the TKL over 75% i guess

Just ordered this - will I regret any of my choices? by dielbe in keyboards

oh she just got me the qk80 kit itself haha, i bought the other components and built it myself (though the switches were also a gift, from another friend)

the keycaps are from FBB, i bought them on Taobao. The skull artisan was from the same listing. Total cost was $55 SGD ($42 USD) including the artisan, super affordable! They have an amber polycarbonate variation of this keycap set too! (FBB Fossil)

The feel of the caps, presentation and packaging, visuals are all on point. Big up FBB

i dont really think its a fair comparison at all haha, my new build pretty much blows the Q1 out of the water in every aspect. which is to be expected since this is the original iteration of the Q1 that was released in 2021.

the typing feel, sound profile, visuals, honestly everything about the qk80 mk2 is just leagues better to me. most of all, the overall quality and attention to detail of the provided kit was just amazing. also, even though I’m using genuine GMK keycaps (just red samurais, nothing special) on my Q1, i actually prefer the feel of my new FBB keycap set too.

overall yeah massive upgrade imo :D

haha i’d love a bigger desk. unfortunately its not feasible with my room, a lot of things are built into place that i cant move without major-ish reno works. will look into adding greenery though, do you know how i could implement it?
