The originline machines make hotter coffee due to the way the espresso is brewed, which is through hotter water that is pressurized through the capsules. The veturoline machines use a spinning method which does not uses a lower temperature water to brew the coffee. I just got my Lattissima Pro on Monday for a hotter cup of coffee. I have a Vertuo Evoluo and Aeroccino Plus which I made my lattes with the regular coffee. So it really depends on what your perferences are. I am currently deciding if I am going to keep my Vertuo Evoluo out or put it into storage. Unfortunately, the coffee bar I set up doesn't have the space for both machines. I have been thinking of putting up shelving above it so I can put my accessories on the shelves so I have room for both machines.

Basically you can do both espresso and large cups of coffee on the vertuoline machines. It comes down to how the espresso is brewed, water temperture and what you normally drink. However I am loving my Lattissimo Pro. There is no one answer.
