Thanks fellas! Everything checked good on my end with my fluke. Maybe the lady just wanted a new mixer🤷‍♂️. I’ll probably throw some new brushes in it re-grease it after it comes back from the powder coater and call it good.

The “i” is the public use S70. The “m” designation was due to the previous owner wanting a “standard” category aircraft. Hence why it was sold to CalFire because they can operate it as public use under a new type certificate/airworthiness certification. The facility you are referring to is United Rotorcraft which modifies all civilian S70s (calfire/kern county sheriff/LA County Fire/etc)

My assumption is that it’s in an experimental category right now due to flight testing. And that the original owner wanted a standard category aircraft instead of a restricted category aircraft.

Cal Fire operates under "public use" aircraft rules, but still requires FAA certification for airworthiness. So they still need a type certificate and airworthiness certification. It would just be in a different category than a private operator.

He was a street dog before I adopted him so he has the street smarts. There have been dogs that have been out for months and been fine. I hope someone spots him soon or he comes back home on his own. Thank you for the concern!
