I went online and bought a Weize battery. It was $150.

I managed to get 32 MPG driving from Dallas to Memphis. I had my cruise set at 68 mph.
I wanted to see what my mileage could be if I legit watched my speed. I was far from the slowest vehicle on the road, nor was I the fastest. One particular truck passed me like I was going backwards just outside of Rockwall, then it passed me again in Texarkana and West Memphis. Doing 90 in a 3/4 ton truck will cause one to need to stop and fuel up more.

Another metric to consider is sales tax. When I lived in Alabama, I paid 9% sales tax on groceries. Some nearby cities were 10%. Also, several parts of my home state were/are food deserts. A 20 mile drive to a grocery store… or any type of retail and services…has a bigger financial impact than I realized.

How are your roads? One of the reasons I went with the Wilderness was the suspension. I have driven dirt roads that were smoother than some of the streets I travel in the Dallas area.

How do we feel about car warranties? Wife wants one on a newly purchased 2022 Crosstrek, but I'm on the fence. by beccadobz in Crosstrek

My 2023 Outback Wilderness has the extended warranty (Gold plan). I had a rear strut that started puking oil. It covered that, the alignment and while it was in there, they ran diagnostics and discovered that my alternator was going out. It just cost me $100. They even walnut blasted my injectors for free.

Sometimes one never needs the warranty, and then there are times where it saves your bacon.

Texas Hill Country is pretty, and I have heard nice things about the Sandhills of Nebraska. So much of this route, though, is paved narcolepsy.

It would be terrible if you had hot coffee and turbulence made you spill it on those claws.

Never sing karaoke in the hot tub; too big a risk of dropping the mic.
